I like that Ward had said that Dirrell will take his fight game to another level now that he's experienced all that in one night. -was in a tough fight -first time going 12 rounds -first championship fight -away from the US, in the champions hometown I think that fight opened Dirrell's eyes and he's going to come back full force. I would like to see what he comes up with for next fight ... i'm pretty sure that he's already in the gym.
Dirrell is a better fighter than everyone in the tournament, when you look at a guy like him, he's just extremely athletic and very youthful when it comes to fighting. Of course I think Dirrell won the fight and I was being generous by giving Froch more than what he was able to do ... he didn't land any power punches, his footwork looked amateurish, and he couldn't do anything in close quarters but hit behind the head. Dirrell did a great job of hitting to the body, but for some reason later on in the fight was hestitant to pull the trigger - even when he had Froch hurt (noticeably) a couple of times late. He was not trying to take any risks ... I understand where he's coming from, but he wasn't in the states he was in the UK ...
I have a feeling that people think feel Dirrell clearly won are in fact saying that they feel Dirrell is the better fighter - and they feel he showed it in this fight. I tend to agree. Dirrell for sure has the better talent and he showed it in the fight. I still scored the fight 6-6 (before the deduction) simply because although he showed he was the better fighter (or at least the most naturally gifted)... he didn't put in the offensive work for many of the rounds.
Ward had no moments that he showed that he could be taken out of there, because if he did, i'm 100% sure that Froch would've knocked him out ... despite the accusations of holding ... there wouldn't have been anything to stop Froch from getting that knockout if Dirrell showed any signs of hurt or fatigue. I think Dirrell did a great job and showed that he was the better fighter ... he might no have knocked Froch down but he sure as **** made Froch respect his power -- now while they were in close quarters thats another thing, I personally feel that Dirrell should've done some work on the inside just to further discourage Froch. Froch didn't dig deep or anything, he was there for the taking ... too bad that he was in his hometown. Froch has never been in a fight like that and it showed ... thats why Froch lost the fight.
Dirrell lost! I give zero points for holding. Zero points for holding. Zero points for falling down on canvas. Zero points for complaining. I only give points for fighting/landing punches.
For me, RJJ is faster. And since Roy is around 6', and M. Taylor is only a little guy at 5'5" or 5'6", it is much much more impressive (in a P4P sense) being that fast for bigger guys. I am sure there are several guys fighting at 108 who are faster than Taylor too. But they are faster because they have much less weight to carry and their punches travel much shorter distances. Overall, RJJ or........(drum roll) Mike Tyson!! takes the title for faster boxer overall. If we don't worry about weight, then it is sure a 108 pound fighter or something like that.
guess who else said Dirrell won the fight- this guy: This content is protected SOURCE: the place where they fight the fights.
