I was there at this fight, i'd agree Dirrell maybe should of got the nod. But it certainly was no big "Robbery" - seen a lot lot worse decisions week in week out
Despite being a fan of his since I watched his debut live on TV, Froch gets my back up fairly often when he starts running that trap of his. Hand on heart, I've even had occasional thoughts run through my mind hoping that Ward would beat him in a rematch if they ever had one. It's very rare and they're only fleeting, but I confess to having them. That's how much he annoys me sometimes and you know I can't stand Ward. lol :good
Carl Froch excell within areas well honoured here at ESB, trolling included. Froch can make very realistic ****yzes when he's in the mood, but most of the time he makes just the kind of outrageous comments you would expect by a top notch troll. He has also done a fair amount of chin checking. "Fighter A was wobbled 20 years ago during a high school brawl" and so on. I don't expect to run out of reasons to be a fan of Froch anytime soon.
We know Carl won it officially. I'm asking you how you think he won. No, I've never discussed this before in as much depth. I ended up watching the fight again, due to debating the outcome on another thread.
I respect everything you've wrote apart from calling what he did an act of cowardice. I'm also looking forward to the DeGale fight. It should be great.
I know he trolls sometimes, and I do find him amusing and witty when he does so sometimes too. I'm still a fan of his. That said, he's a bloody strange bloke, uniquely strange in a way which is very peculiar to him, and even when he's being serious he can still be really annoying. However, his brother Lee is a massive c*ck with seemingly no redeeming features.
Again, I was on another thread a few days ago, where Froch had referred to Dirrell as one of his former victims. So I questioned that and got into a debate with other members about the outcome of the fight. I hadn't seen the fight for a long time. So late on Friday night I decided to watch it again, as I'd got nothing better to do. When I watched it again, the decision was worse than I thought, which is why I made this thread.
Wow! He must have got your back up if you even thought about wanting Ward to win. Every fighter has an ego, and Carl's a great fighter, and he deserves an enormous amount of respect. But his ego seems to be getting bigger as each week goes by. I used to love his interviews and I used to appreciate his honesty, but now it's just turned to arrogance, and he really winds me up.
Andre made him miss wildly and countered him all night. There wasn't lots of action, but Andre landed many more clean shots. When I watched the fight again on Friday, I actually thought about your comments regarding Carl fighting Roy in his prime. Do you remember when I said to you, it would have been a drag race between a good car and a Lamborghini? Forget that. It would have been a drag race between a Lamborghini and a Nissan Micra. If you think Carl would even have had a chance of beating Roy in his prime, you need locking up for your own safety. Dirrell made him look silly at times, so Roy would have thought it was Christmas.
