show me the part where Froch lands a good punch. I'm happy to watch. you've got you're work cut out for you.
It was this year I watched it (January I think) and still scored it for Froch- and forgot how much Dirrell tried to stink the joint out. Direll just basically tries to do as little as he thinks he can get away with.
He's a boxer, not a fighter. His game is to hit, without getting hit. Scoring effectively, whilst defending himself with great reflexes. People want to see Gatti vs Ward type fights, toe to toe scr*ps, that make you get off your seat and gasp. That's cool. But you have to be able to appreciate a guy slipping and countering. It makes me sick when a guy who uses great footwork, gets labelled as a runner, as though he's somehow cheating. I promise you, Carl Froch in 12 rounds, honestly only landed about 8/9 clean shots. I'm not exaggerating. Which one of the first 6 rounds did he win? He didn't even win any of the first 7 rounds. He was walking forward, flicking out a jab that was miles away, he was swinging wildly, and was eating blistering counters. Honestly, I was embarrassed watching the fight. At the absolute most, you could only have given him three rounds. Ring generalship doesn't constitute as just plodding forward. Seriously, it's now got to the stage where people can't appreciate a guys defence. If a guy's not prepared to put himself potentially into a coma in a shootout, he gets penalised for it by some. If Willie Pep was around today, he'd get dogs abuse on this forum. It's a joke.
You obviously don't. Because using great reflexes and footwork to make somebody off balance and miss you, and then countering them cleanly - IS BOXING.
The word DISGUSTING doesn't even scr*pe the surface. It was like watching a pro spar a novice. Carl walked forward, got tagged and didn't land anything. Oh, but let's get give him the rounds based on aggression. atsch Outrageous! I actually felt sick at times watching it.
Someone should make subtitles to this video about how Froch explains how he won this fight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyEThSM4JnI
Have never needed to watch the fight again. Saw a clear and complete robbery the first time. Dirrell won the fight!
