I highly doubt this was OP's intention. I pity him.
Man, your guy had a lot of potential. It could have been him in Ward's place now. He made a terrible decision that cost him. Not only that but his style is not pleasant to the eye. He is contradictory. ....A very fragile skilled guy.
To regain his "appeal" he must change almost everything. He must gain some courage. No one wathches boxing to see fragile guys bitching. NO ONE! If he mans up you will have positive responses on threads like this.
I'm not telling you to stop being a fan. I admire your courage and constancy, even if its next to stupidity but do yourself a favor and stop shoving Dirrell on people's throats until people regain some confidence in him. Personally I can not forgive him as a person for what he pulled in the Abraham fight but I would love to be able to watch him again as a boxer if he changes his style and stops underrating boxing fan's intelligence.

 

man...alot of dirrell haters....i dont get the hate......trust me...i was ringside when he fought curtis stevens.....i fell asleep at least 5 times....the boos of the crowd woke me up.....

but the guy realized that fighting like that wasnt going to help his career...i think hes a very talented fighter....and i think he beat froch pretty easily

 

It looked like he could've beat Froch pretty easily, but he fought that shitty style and made Froch look better than he was.

The only criticism I have of Dirrell stylistically is that he doesnt box and move enough. He's either back pedaling, or stationary to set up traps. With his size and length I'd like to see him jab more. His jab is blinding, but he doesnt use it enough and when he does he paws with it as a range finder.

Bute would end Dirrel......it's a win win for Lucian though. He gets a 12-0 shutout vs a great SMW or a 1st rd KO.

Why should Dirrel make this fight when he wait for Bute to move along and fight guys like groves and Steiglitz for SMW dominance in 2-3 yrs.:rofl
