Anthony Dirrell (27-1-1)will be facing recent GGG victim Marco Antiono Rubio (59-7-1)on September 6th. Hopefully Rubio comes to fight.

Jamie McDonnell (26-2-1) vs Tomoki Kameda (31-1-0) fight 2 on the undercard, that will definitely be a great fight.:bbb

    :huhI don't think so.

Dirrel will pull it. Rubio never became champion at 160, lost to all his opportunities, he won't beat a former champion at 168.

Hope Kameda wins the rematch, he was too reliant on his speed and didnt really adjust to the long jab of McDonnell. Still a very good fight and hopefully as good as the first one

Agreed, Dirrell will probably stop Rubio late. Rooting for Rubio though.

Kameda's got some heart to go for a rematch, I think he'll come short once again.

Rubio's only wins at super middle in the last five years are over Wilson Santana and Carlos Baldomir. (though he was overweight and technically a super middle in the ring against both Vanda and Golovkin)

Why is Dirrell picking on a MW?

Maybe Rubio can't make MW anymore, just a guess.

Even though I had it super close at 114-113, I felt that McDonnell proved himself the clear better man on the night. Despite the closeness of the contest and it being a split decision, I'm not sure a rematch is even needed.

Take away the knockdown and switch around the 5th (a swing round, which I gave to Kameda) and my card would've read 116-112 McDonnell.

He virtually swept the 2nd half.

Yeah, but from Dirrell's perspective - is the way to be taken seriously as he claws his way back into the world title picture at 168lbs to pick on a 35 year old coming off an eleven month layoff after being chinned by a monster and whose career has fluctuated between junior middle and middleweight? :huh

I understand he probably wants to get back in the W column after the DeGale loss but at least take on a natural SMW.

He did whoop Lemeux though. Looks like Golovkin is having his left overs. When GGG KO's Lemeux everyone will celebrate and act like Golovkin just beat some world beater. They did the same thing with Curtis Stevens.

Yeah, you're right. (I think you have the wrong brother though, I had to double check to be sure)

I could see why he would take this fight though if his self confidence/esteem is seriously low. + his older brother lost his big fight.

One good thing about Rubio moving up to SMW is we don't have to see his spotted wang anymore:good
