I certainly hope Dirrell can pull it off ! I just wouldn't dismiss the way Ward can fight. Everyone looks at Bernard Hopkins as a "boxing genius" but he used his head and somewhat same tactics as Ward quite often in his career...

Mine too. The guys with the 2 best skill sets on display.

Glad it's in Detroit too. None of the fighters should have homefield for every fight.

Not sure which way I'm going yet. I think Dirrell has the superior raw skills, but Ward's ring IQ is excellent and he always finds a gameplan to win and executes it. I'd like to say Dirrell, but something tells me Ward by close UD. Can't wait for this one.

Ward is the better fighter quite simply. More canny defensively, more versatile and would win surprisingly widely IMO. Dirrell would just struggle to get in rhythm with Ward's range control and body movement.

The thing that upsets me in this fight is that I have to pull for Ward as he's my man, but Dirrell doesn't deserve to go out at this stage (which he almost certainly will). **** Froch and his gift decision bull****.

Pretty much. He's just got an undeniably better set of weapons at his disposal. He has feet and hands that are near the same speed to boot, so Dirrell's natural advantage over pretty much everyone else in the S6 isn't gonna pan out as it usually would...

I kind of want Dirrell to win as well, because he at least deserves to make it to stage 2(he's better than everyone else in the tournament besides Ward basically).

So far it's looking like Kessler, AA, and Ward I guess.

I'm surprise that this fight will be headed in Dirrell's home town. The reason i'm surprise cause Dirrell in all honesty can't sell tickets over there. But big credit for Gary Shaw for putting his foot down to make sure that Ward goes on the road and do like Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Froch, Taylor/Green has done. Now lets see if Ward can still win fights without fighting at home.

Ward has only fought 4 or 5 fights in Oakland. He did win an olympic gold medal over in Greece as well.

There's probably good reason the fights not in Oakland. The city just laid off 80 cops and all of Oakland is exploding with bullets flying all over the place. Better to hold the match in Detroit where it's safe :patsch
