Dirrell vs. Ward is headed for Detroit, Joe Louis Arena

^^^If it doesn't matter as you say then Ward should have no problem fighting on the road in this tournament.

 

A fighter doesn't have to stand in the pocket and slug with little or no regard for defence to legally fight inside. Headbutting is not allowed, but using your head for defence, positioning or to create openings is entirely legitimate.

Ward may hold and hit occasionally, but that often arises because the opponent is trying to hold him to prevent him working inside.

Ward's reputation as a dirty fighter is not fair at all.

 

Is there any indication that he isn't? You're criticising him for doing nothing wrong. If Ward was a Euro-style paper titleist who relied on home cooking and ducking the best at 168, he wouldn't be in this tournament licking every fighter in a stacked weight class.

I agree, he's not really being a billy goat per se, especially against green I thought the accusations were unwarranted. You can pin your head on an opponent's chest. Green was also initiating a great deal of the holding

He might have been a little lax with watching his head against Kessler but I don't think he was intentionally butting to be honest.

 

This should be a good fight, but I think Ward wins by UD

 

He doesn't have a problem going on the road, and I never said he did. However, people have made way too big of a deal about where he has fought; especially considering his fights haven't been close.

 

I favor Dirrell's better hand and foot speed to win this.

 

I have to admit that this fight going down in Detroit makes me wonder about my pick

 

Dirrell will be on his bike from bell to bell, however, I see Ward pinning him in the corner just enough to win a decision. I am glad the fight is in Detroit, but I don't know why. Dirrell is from Flint but he can't draw flies to ****.

 

Aww **** I had an outtage and missed being on the thread for a couple hours but when I read this ****... Detroit safe.. Nice... Thier Police CHief Just resigned.. lol Okaland is laying off cops.. But if I had my choice Detrot might be a lil safer at this point in time..

Naw It will be good to see Ward on the road... I hope Dirrell can bring back them Flint businessmen who laid down bundle of cash on his ass against Froch.. I believe they could put 8 to 10 thousand in the Joe for this one..
