I know a lot of people on here aren't fond of Dirrell but I really don't see what he has to gain from pulling out of a fight with Ward. It would have been a massive payday and a shot at a world title. It's not like Ward is a concussive puncher either so I doubt he'd fake a brain injury if he was worried about getting a 'legit' one from the fight. I didn't even think he was much of an underdog either tbh, it was a 50-50 fight. People might point to them being friends but I doubt they'd sign up to fight each other in the first place if they were that worried about it

Hmm... because he could get out with 1 shitty win via DQ and 2 defeats when he dared to step up with some of the best . Because he'll get out without a title. Because he hopes he can tear down the super six and fight who he wants that is not his friend and still get a title . Bute,Stieglitz .... challenge for the WBC (winner of Abraham v Froch).

Anyone with a brain will realise that he would have lost a razor thin decision which could have gone either way while he was a novice and 'possibly' a loss to a very special fighter. Chances are he was going through to the semi finals anyway where he probably would have fought someone else for a title

And, if he suffered compression or concussion after Abraham's hardly full-force punch, why wasn't he scanned and this news uncovered much sooner. As a man who takes punches for a living, I can't believe his insurance company would allow him not to undergo regular screening after such a "devastating" shot.

It's a load of ****. He's a little punk and a complete cry-baby. He knows he'd struggle with Ward, get kicked out the tournament and be without options.
