You still haven't pointed me to where I can find this mythical rule that states that you cannot duck from the waist with your face towards the ground. I'm going to go ahead and wait for you to do that. Seriously, I'll check back, so go find it. It doesn't matter WHAT the other guy does, you cannot intentionally punch him in the back of the head. When boxers do it to a guy who turns his back or is turning away and going down they get warned or penalized. There is no excuse whatosever for risking paralyzing the other guy just to prove a point. If the guy is not providing any viable target (and this is only true when he turns his back on you, not when he ducks) then you wait for the ref to warn or DQ him. You don't just go ahead and swing away at his brain stem.
Lot's of fighters do it. It's one of those things that is rarely called because, as mentioned, the intent of the rule isn't clear and it's generally interpreted to mean that you can't just squat and linger below the guy's beltline, providing no target whatsoever. Lots of defensive fighters weave at the waist like that but they are generally up and down so quick that it's irrelevant. There are also still available scoring targets. Body shots or punches to the side of the head or front of the face (uppercuts) work fine. As we learned from this fight, it's only a foul if it's called, which is why Froch wasn't DQed for rabbit punching, holding and hitting. That's just the way it goes.
He ducked below the waist band plenty of times, which is against the rules, he actually did it once and the commentators were like "What headmovement!!!WOW!!" I Lol'd at that, considering the far better displays beforehand.
I never said he didn't. I said there wasn't a rule that said you couldn't duck at the waist, period, which is what the above poster said. You can do so all you want, as long as you don't drop your head below your opponent's beltline (whole head or any part is not specified). Like I though, saying "he ducked at the waist, so Carl had to punch him in the back of the head" is disingenuous, mean-spirited, and incorrect. NEVER do that, ever.
I think thats only 2 times the ref was in Froch face but thats about it. I guess he want to get in Froch face 2 times to make it seem like the ref ain't biased.
