In regards to Dirrell's reaction - I did martial arts for years (still do to a degree but I'm getting old) I was sparring with a friend of mine and went for a lead left hook as he threw a powerful jab. It caught me flush and I went down and cracked my head on a gym floor. For two or three seconds there was no pain and then suddenly it felt as though someone was squeezing my brain like a sponge! Pain? It was a ****in nightmare and I'm happy to say that it's only ever happened once! People making assumptions on Dirrell's delayed reaction aren't being fair. Strange **** goes down when you get hit and Andre didn't see that punch coming! Add in the fact that Abraham punches like a ****in mule kick and that's what happens. There's no way he acted to get that result! NO WAY!
Of course. These accusations of "faking" are some of the biggest bull**** I've seen on this forum, and that's saying something.
Don't expect many responses to this sensible post. It actually says a lot about the posters who are talking **** about Dirrell. I have lost a lot of respect for some people around here. He was on his knees, defenseless, and hit flush by arguably the hardest p4p punchers in boxing today. Let one of these tough guys kneel down and put their hands on their side while Abraham punches them with a right hand.
I've seen someone get punched and get most of a whole sentence out of their mouth before blacking out for about 30 seconds. There's nothing strange about it. Why did he look to the ref? There are any of half a dozen reasons why he'd look at the ref, including, "WTF?!".
Exactly. Well put. This should be the end of this whole nonsense, but sadly, it won't be. I frankly can't believe that boxing fans would suggest this sort of crap. It's one of the worst things I've seen in 30+ years of following the sport, frankly.
Montell Griffin also looked at the ref and had a delayed reaction when hit while down by Jones. It's very common. I agree, the past 15 hours have treated us to some of the dumbest ****ing posts ever made on this forum. And here I thought Pacquaio and Mayweather had lots of fanbois. Jesus.
I agree. I've hit my head on a ceiling before and startedto say something to my mate before I went down. And once in the gym I hit a guy who caught me with a 1 2 before going down. I would say I thought all the stuff afterwards was a bit theatrical but the initial reaction looked ok. Not like B-hop throwing himself through the ropes (I assume I'll get kained by some Joe haters now).
How about Gerald Mclellan taking a knee against Nigel Benn, completely conscious. Bit of a delayed reaction, there, no? Because now he's totally brain damaged. Come to think of it. Maybe he's faking it. He's really A-OK.
