What I am talking about is the truth of boxing. If Dirrell wasn't Dirrell? Headaches, dizzy spells, and not being able to sleep probably wouldn't get you out of fighting. With his talent level and knowing the man like he does makes him worry. It was messed up but probably honest and not taken the way he meant it. It is. You can even see the early onset of punch drunkeness in Dirrell's speech. I honestly think you can see a difference in him pre-Froch and now.
then his trainer/uncle should be more considerate of others, he is ok with letting others who go through the same things as his nephew into the ring. that is probably the reason i respect freddie roach so much, he told james toney to retire after the samuel peter fights and then refused to train hopkins for pavlik because he knows the risk, dirrells trainer admited he would lead a disabled man into the ring and let em die.
He may have meant it like "I don't really know, but I will defer being that he is his family..." These guys are boxing coaches not skilled political speech givers. Ugh Roach, but on this he knows better than most. He is living with the price of himself for "one more fight". Nobody said he was disabled. He is having symptoms that the coach probably doesn't understand, but is willing to let it ride. Head trauma slips by many in even the most controlled environments (NFL). It could be stress or nerves as much as it is head trauma if it wasn't for the scans, which he probably wouldn't have access to with any other fighter. Like all situations involving Black people, you are looking for a way to spin it negative.
All the reason more to suspect that this is all an act. If any man REALLY was suffering from any boxing related neuro issues then you wouldn't let any guy, or want any guy whether yours or not to fight on. However, since there isn't that fear that something is AUTHENTICALLY wrong then you can throw caution to the wind. Anybody who thinks team dirrell isn't using this to get out of S6 or a ward fight is either a ****, or they're ignorant non objective fans. The whole thing just turns my stomach.
Fight Camp interview. TV crew asks Dirrell about his neurological issues, but he squirms around a lot. His team get ultra defensive, demand a lawyer, his trainer goes off shows that he's not very um... how should I say nice or honest guy. Once you watch it, it becomes painfully clear either way.
My opinion has always been the Dirrell lacks the grit and the guts to truly gut out a win over Ward. This comes as close to proving it as an actual fight would. A pretty damn blatant ***** out, and those aren't actually frequent in this sport.
Even with a lose to Ward with Kessler pulling out Dirrell was a lock to move on to the semi finals in which he couldve possibly rematched Abraham or Froch both winnable fights and he'd be in the finals and again have a chance to rematch one of the previous fighters he's already fought in the tourey. You're logic for why he pulled out doesnt add up I doubt he really fears Ward that much style wise he probably has the best chance against Ward then anyone at 168 outside of Bute. The reason why he pulled out most likely is assholes in his ear giving him bad advice and thinking that Showtime should change the contract of the tourney just for him and pay him more money because Ward vs Dirrell is such a "huge" fight. So now he thinks he can just pull out and get a fight with the winner of the touney for big bucks.
you're the one spinning so direll shouldn't fight because of his injuries BUT anyone dirrells trainer is training with an injury its ok to force them to fight? (as long as they're not black)
