Rocky Marciano, Harry Greb, Tom Sharkey and Roberto Duran all crossed the Queensbury line at times, but I've always considered them to be more rough than outright "dirty". The guys who made my list tended to have a good number of DQs to go along with their dirty reps. Except for Zivic and Saddler, both of whom I feel were just too clever to get caught

Mustafa Hamsho might make a few lists. Same with Fireman Jim Flynn

Armstrong wasn´t mentioned yet, he used his forearms quite well and constantly. But I guess this is due to his style, Greb, Marciano and other swarmers had simmilar issues.

 

My favorites during the time I followed boxing were Sammy Serrano and Eusebio Pedroza. Both had highly proficient elbows. Cheating is about more than low blows, as Chuck Wepner demonstrated. Heels, lace rakes, kicks and rabbit punches are also essential weapons in the arsenal.

Larry Holmes had a highly educated thumb, as LeDoux and Frank found out. Antufermo used his head as a weapon, then complained when repeatedly coming out on the bad end of skull clashes. (Don Curry reproached himself for the fact his head was even available to be butted, and strove to take corrective action to protect it better, a commendable attitude.)

Fritzie Zivic never lost on a disqualification although deductions for fouls were known to cost him at least a couple of wins. Galento actually admitted training with elbow pads. There are photographs of Marciano hitting with the elbow on his follow through.

 

Barrera, he didnt even make an effort to disguise it either.

 

I've heard Chavez was pretty dirty, but their are people who say he wasnt always attempting to hit people low, it was just that people used to pull their trunks up high so he he would be less inclined to do some of his body snatching.

 

Casamayor deserves a mention.
