Some of the most notorious dirty fighters have remarkably few dsq's on their records.
Tony Galento ,was only dsq'd TWICE [Gagnon, and Lawless]

Harry Greb, only ONCE when, both he, and his opponent Kid Norfolk ,were thrown out for fighting after the bell.

Sandy Saddler, ONCE , against Armond Savoie.

And ,perhaps the dirtiest of the lot Fritzie Zivic, NEVER.

    Curious.:huh

Still wonder how a so called dirty fighter like Zivic could never be DQ.

Because he was so adept at it that he could get away with a lot of his fouls, by committing them outside of the official's view.

The same could be said of Eusebio Pedroza and Bernanrd Hopkins.

Mysterious Billy Smith and George Godfrey.

Sammy Angott was a notable spoiler, he was never DQ'd.

Godfrey was dsq'd 8 times, though one I beleive, against Gains was to save a more humiliating defeat, and the other, against Carnera, may have been a pride saving dive.

He has nothing on Billy Smith though who was DQ'd 11 times I believe.

"And, perhaps the dirtiest of the lot Fritzie Zivic, NEVER."

Fritzie wrote articles in magazines such as TRUE on how to fight dirty and get away with it. His main rule was always know where the ref is and do not foul when the ref is in a position to see. It appears he knew what he was talking about.

He lamented in one article I read that dirty fighting had become a lost art. No one really knew how to butt or thumb anymore.

Zivic would have been "delighted" to see Bernard Hopkins fight then.

Bernard Hopkins has never been DQ'd. In fact I can only recall a couple occasions in which had a point taken away.
