Is there any dirty tactics that is forbidden in the rule-book, but are "accepted" amongst the fighters themselves? Like Maidana punching low on Mayweather when the referee was on the other side (obv. not in the balls, but more in the hip area)?
i believe if a fighter gets dirty and the ref wont do anything about it you are well within your rights to use a few dirty moves yourself
hopkins headbutts are so difficult to penalise if you are the ref because of how subtle , quick and disguised he is with it
They both could have had a point taken in that fight. Kosta hit 3-4 or 4 low and Hatton landed that huge shot. Floyd's forearm barley gets a mention and no ref does anything about it Ward head-butts a lot but gets away with it there's also holding the arm at full extension with out punching. Khan's shoving gets him penalty's in a few of his last fights
I'm not sure if that's legal or not? I remember Harold Lederman said somewhere that you can "measure" a guy if your glove are closed. Anyone know anything about that?
i always got taught you could not hold your glove on there face kinda like holding and hitting but with like a pawwing hand
You can measure but not more then a second or two. Its also a great defensive move. Khan actually shoves his opponents. He deserved to get points taken vs Peterson.
Most fighters have some sort of illegal tactics they get away with. As far as being "accepted" by the fighters, yeah, it's "acceptable" to a fighter when he does it, but not when it's being done back to him. Funny that fighters like Terry Norris, Andrew Golota, Riddick Bowe, Floyd Mayweather, and especially Bernard Hopkins have complained when dirty tactics come back to them.
