He should have stayed and given Chad Dawson his props or atleast acknowledged that Dawson fought a good fight. Nazim Richardson and co better not fill his head up with bull**** about politcs being the reason he lost...that may have been the case prevously but it sure as hell wasn't in play here, he lost to the younger stronger quicker better man on the night and that's all there is to it.

He may do in time. We know what Hopkins is like, he won't be lauding Chad just yet, be he knows full well he was well beaten tonight.

Agreed. Love Hops but he can't possibly think he won that fight. It wasn't close. Still looked great for his age but the younger fighter won clearly following a great plan from Scully. Dawson's best performance since Adamek and he didn't have mental lapses. Props to both fighters risking it in there.

Was really disappointed in Naz because of that comment. Is he blind or does he really believe that crap? Yeah there was boxing politics alright: that 114-114 card.

Hopkins will put his finger in the air, sense that the fans aren't interested in controversy, and probably move up to Cruiser in a novelty fight. I don't think he can quit. Honestly, even a freak fight against James Toney wouldn't surprise. But B-Hop is finished at top level. It's over.

It's the most appropriate way for Hopkins to retire. Complaining about a decision. What a career though. Still competitive with the best at 175 at 47 years old.

    Yeah, it was disappointing.

But you get the feeling that, despite him probably complaining, his decision to walk off was probably because he knew he was actually soundly beaten, and that he has nothing to dispute.

Hopkins has always been a great winner and a sore loser! totally classless when trying to hype a fight, insulted Tito Trinidad and Winky, Calzaghy and others !Good riddance to the ******* !

I didn't like his people feeding him that 'politics' bull**** line, they should have been honest with him 'look son you're losing'

B level fighters like the ones that dominate cruiser wouldn't be bad match ups for Hopkins. he could get a 3rd division title and some decent paydays fighting abroad if he wants. he's taken care of his money, so I'm sure he feels no pressure to fight.

It was a close fight and really was not much more then a draw. Hopkins should retire as they are not doing him any favors.
