Some fighters cant perform at certain weight divisions. You have to look at what the fighters were doing and when. Take G Johnson, hes world class at LHW, but a journeyman at SMW, where he has lost more than won. Toney didnt beat any top SMWs. What top SMWs had Nunn beaten. Nunn above MW was beaten by a Eubank victim.
People also forget alot of Nunns top victories were over naturally smaller fighters.
Toney beat nobody at SMW. Its like saying De La Hoya was a great MW when Hopkins beat him.
Look at how J Taylor beat Hopkins (one of the best MWs ever), does that make beating J Taylor at SMW a great win? No. J Taylor cant compete at SMW, and when he stepped up after being a MW champ went 3-1 and is now back at MW.

If you want tp go back far enough. Jones was clowning world ranked 70-3-2 in his 18th pro fight 6 months after Castro had been competitive with Norris for a world title fight,andf who went on to be WBA middleweight chamop AFTER!. Who was Joe fighting at that stage of his career?

You rate that win for Jones but dont tell that he had lost to Norris, was a weight lighter, and never beat anyone of real note. His fight before Jones was against a 34-44-22 fighter atsch.
Calzaghe in his 17th fight was fighting a home fighter in an away country who was 21-0 for the British title. That was what he was doing

How far past prime was Eubank to you then?
Eubank had lost a close decision to Collins, that many thought he won, had a couple of tune ups and rematched Collins to a SD, had a couple of tune ups and lost clearly to underdog Calzaghe. After that loss Eubank went up to CW and challenged world champ Thompson losing a very close decision and then rematched Thompson losing on injury when ahead. Thats Thompson who years later past his best KOd D Haye. The only CW to beat future 2 weight champ Haye.
Consider Eubank only had 2 losses to one fighter when he fought Calzaghe, the second by SD to a world champ and was 31 then went on to challenge a big CW flooring him etc, how past his prime do YOU think he was?
Remember Kessler is Wards big win and was the same age as Eubank here and had around the same amount of fights.
Eubank had to put weights in his clothes and wear clothes to appear heavier for the CW weigh in.
Tell me which SMW today could be so light and fight a close fight with a massive punching CW world champ, because I cant think of any CW champ today that hit as hard as Thompson

Look at the facts Eubank didnt lose in 19 world title fights.
Eubank and Benn get rated highly because look at the level they were fighting at when SMW champs compared to fighters who get hyped like Toney. Eubank and Benn fought at a higher level at SMW.
Eubank and Benn though had some good genuine SMW victories

Out of Eubanks 18 WBO SMW title fights 14 of those fights were against fighters who were, had been or became top 10 SMWs. One was a unification and another was against the undefeated former IBF SMW champ (relinquished his title). In fact 6 of the fighters he faced had been or became world champs

Eubank had beaten a rival SMW champ and drawn with another. Toney didnt do half as much at SMW.

Yeah, beating Eubank who had lost twice to Collins at that stage, beat 2 nobodies and then lost twice more before retiring is far better than Jones beating a world champ who was ranked near the top of the p4p list and who outweighed him by 10lbs on fight night,and completely dominated him in the process.

Also using your logic of the "weight drained" Toney who was apparently weight drained because his nexy fight was 7 lbs heavier than his fight against Jones.

What about Eubank? His next fight was neatly TWENTY POUNDS heavier than the fight against Calzaghe!!!

He must have drained bone dry!!!
