Same answer as to why most Boxers are more exciting to watch than Floyd. Floyd doesnt fight, he just boxes. Even defensive Boxers fight, Floyd lands enough punches to stop his opponent starting an attack then backs right off and resets, and does that all night long. Thats how he wins the rounds.

Its brilliant brilliant Boxing, boring awful fighting. And us Boxing fans want to see both rolled into 1. A Sporting contest and a real fight. After the fight we want to know who the best sportsman is and who beats who up if it was personal and in a bars carpark. Floyd doesnt give us both. Most other Boxers do no matter what level they are at.

If Floyds style was used in a carpark s**** the fight would last from kicking out the club time to about 8 in the morning.

Exciting is subjective skills aren't and that's what you saw when these two met last year.

Because Floyd Mayweather's main fighting philosophy is 'outpoint-by-not-fighting' as opposed to 'outpoint-by-fighting' which is Pac's.

It's not as fun to watch a boxing match when an opponent tries to take the fight away from it.

Prime Pacquiao would have soundly beaten Floyd. Remember Pac's unpredictability, rawness, POWER, speed, athleticism, killer instinct at lower weights, damn.

Void runs and hugs too much and of course Pac comes to bring it. I do find Pac boring when he doesn't bring it which was later on in his career.

he respects the fans who are paying for the sport and delivers on his promise of entertaining them with a good fight and not lying just to get people's money.

That's because you don't have a clue about boxin skills, like catch, block, parry, bob/weave/slip, --- making him miss and making him pay. Distance control -- inside the punch zone, outside the punch zone, in the punch zone. That's just a sample which Floyd has mastered. Obviously you have never boxed.

Punches per round. I'll quote a post I made in 2014.

Who are some skillful fighters people regularly find boring? Ward, Hopkins, Mayweather, Rigondeaux? The average super middleweight throws 54.3 punches a round. Andre Ward has a reputation as a boring boxer because against Dawson he threw 41.8, against Froch he threw 47.8, against Bika he averaged 36.2. For comparison purposes Froch throws 68 punches a round. Hopkins throws about 35-40 punches a round when the light heavyweight average is 54.
Mayweather averages throwing 40 punches per round at welterweight and threw 50 a round at 130. By way of comparison, Jesus Soto Karass threw 110 punches a round against Andre Berto last year. The Welterweight average is 58.7, Maidana throws 66, and Manny Pacquiao throws 69.4. Rigondeaux throws 40.3 punches a round in a division where the average is 60.3. Busier fights are generally more exciting fights for fans.

Who are the guys who throw the most punches? Santa Cruz, Golovkin, Mares, Pacquiao, Rios, Froch, etc. It's not just a coincidence that they are considered exciting fighters.

If I asked you why is rap music better than rock, country, blues, or whatever you're into, what would the correct answer be?

Boxing is a sport and rap is music. They are too dissimilar to make a direct comparison.

But if I were trying to make a case for rap's superiority I would look at the ways that it is different from the other forms of music. I would see that unlike the other genres the lyrical content is more prominent than the instrumental content and try to make something out of that.

Then I would bring out examples of rap's great lyricists: Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z, Run DMC, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, etc and do a side by side comparison with representative artists of the other genres: Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Nirvana, Dylan, Hendrix, for rock :Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, George Jones, John Denver, for country: Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Leadbelly, John Lee Hooker, and Elmore James for blues, etc.

Then if I knew more about musical composition I might discuss the genre's various harmonies, melodies, rhythms, chord progressions, tempos, and other aspects of it's structure in order to build a case. But in order to do something like that I would need a strong grasp of the principles of music, just like in order to explain why Pacquiao is a more entertaining boxer than Mayweather someone would need a good grasp of the principles of boxing. It's not simply a matter of subjective taste as M3 implies. There are a number of qualitative and quantitative values which may be assessed with enough expertise.

You keep talking about Floyd, ask yourself "why" and really dwell on that for a minute. You need some enlightenment.
