His cheeky chappy persona masked the detestable character underneath. I never bought into it.

I remember in his hayday people use to ask me why I never took to Hatton and my response was that he was a fake nice guy.

Not dissimilar to AJ who rubs me up the wrong way with his false nice guy act, which is see and is swallowed down hard by the majority and you will even get attacked for not buying into it.

 

The position Hatton is in he should heed the view that what happens in his gym should stay in the gym, talking like that on video is out of order by Hatton.

Hatton kept Lucas Browne inactive for long periods of time, and his prime disappeared.

I communicated with Browne on twitter during that time, and he expressed frustration about not fighting. When I tweeted to Hatton he should get Browne a fight, he blocked me on twitter.

Hatton ruined Browne's career, killed his momentum when he was going strong and he declined. It's sad because Browne is a genuinely nice guy.

I now feel embarrassed for having been a Hatton supporter when he was an active boxer - I see now he's a man of weak character who was undeserving of his enthusiastic following.

 

hatton is most likely suffering from some sort of neurological impairment given his hard career, brutal KOs and his hard drinking and drug abuse on top of that. So, i also feel he is a victim of this whole boxing business in a sense.

However, he was always a shithouse and he is just getting worse, he took on some tough fights when relatively unknown (thaxton springs to mind) but he never went on to prove himself the best at the weight in the uk once the risk was his. That wouldnt be too bad, although witter was a belt holder at the time, and hatton wouldnt stop denigrating him any chance he got, calling him a 'dancer' or a 'runner'. Ok, so fight him then.... ricky? ricky?
