Pretty much how I see it. My only issue is that it taints Canelo's win at a bigger weight class a bit, but at the same time this isn't for a real title and it feels more like a layup than a competitive match. I see this as not being as bad as Jacobs not fighting for the IBF against Golovkin since these same standards apply to Canelo.

Now that you bring that up, Canelo/Fielding basically is like fighting for an IBF title as far as this rehydration clause goes, right? 10 lbs morning of additional weigh in?

Not defending it. It seems not needed at all. Morning-of weigh ins making a return would be such a blessing.

Personally I think it is worse than Jacobs skipping the IBF, which I view as not a big deal at all. If he doesn't want to fight for it, he doesn't need to. I barely give much for titles either way.

See, my thing with Jacobs is that Golovkin didn't have that option. If Golovkin could do that and chose not to then it is fine, but that isn't the case. If he skipped that he would have lost the title even if he won the fight.

But yeah this is basically making this an IBF title match.

Yes, it doesn't mean anything at all. Only that Fielding has to make damn sure that he's going to be no more than 178 the next morning.

Drugnelo demanded it for a reason, folks. And it's not because it's not a big deal.

Which I find kind of funny that he wouldn't fight for the IBF against Golovkin because of re-hydration, but that is the title he is going for against The Machine next Saturday.

Even if Fielding would KO Canelo, I bet Canelo would still win a decision somehow

LOL Jacobs had been put down by Sergio Mora

Jacobs usually weighed 170 fight night with a career high 175, bout the same as GGG lol. (Personally believe fight night weights are agenda driven and plainly false)

LOL you are right nobody claimed Jacobs was huge before he missed the morning weigh-in. The only people who claim Jacobs is huge are Salty GGG fans who know he got his ass beat.

I remember people saying Jacobs was too skinny/small/weak/chinny to handle kid chocolate lol

What you talking about,Golovkin never said nothing about Jacobs weight.Jacobs decided to ignore the then IBFs regulations, simple as that.

Ffs Rocky Fielding is twice the size of Jacobs and Callum Smith would make Jacobs look like a child lol.

They are both 168lbers, hie can you claim Jacobs to be a light heavyweight lol...

Jarrett Hurd is bigger than Jacobs and he is a 154lber lol

Strange how Golovkin gets brought up every time Canelo does anything? The hypocrisy around this guy is unreal in as much as when he was draining himself to death to make 154 he’s no natural Middleweight and his fans all agree he’s this tiny little thing who only refuses to show his weight on the night cause he’s a diva, months later when he fights at 164 and looks like the Hulk and then pops dirty the mantra is he’s always been that size so which is it lol?
I’ll tell you what it is and that’s anyone who can shed all that weight and perform the day after are doing it artificially which by the way I’ve no problem with as loads do it but if you have to put down stipulations of weight on your opponent then maybe you shouldn’t be fighting him.
    Canelo looked mega at 160.

If he makes 160 he’s a Middleweight, simple as that.as to how guys like Hurd make weight is a different matter.

Is that disgraceful, or should it be normal? I think it's disgraceful for bigger guys to artificially slim down into divisions they don't belong in and beat up smaller guys. I'd love it if the alphabet organizations made this law.

It's BS that Canelo would demand this given his own weight bullying in the past. But it won't matter since Fielding is made for Canelo. Canelo is going to KO Fielding without much trouble. Fielding has decent power but he can't take a punch.
