no excusing them using it to offend, but it's true that word is used between friends and heard alot in everyday culture in this day and age, not just by black people. i know some of my friends had a running joke for a while where they'd call each other that influenced by some of the music they were listening to at the time and they were asian/white.

It's not like Tim had control of the decision, he simply fought his heart out in a losing performance to a superior fighter.
