Well today we were sparring only to the body.... and I guess my dumbass sparring partner doesn't understand that and ended up hitting my jaw. Well I notice I can't close my mouth all the way and come to find out... it's dislocated.

Golden Gloves are in February so there's not much time. How long will it take to heal? I have not gone to a doctor yet to fix it.

how do you know it's dislocated if you havent been to the doc's yet?

can you not close it at all or does it hurt near your ear when you close it ?

Went to a Chiro, he told me it's dislocated. I can't close it complete as in bite down, and when I do it feels as if my eardrum is going to burst or something. and my jaw doesn't align right when I bite down.

Eating is becoming a pain in the ass. I can't chew the way I want.

I've had this before and I have to say it really sucks.

I always wear a mouth guard even when only sparring to the body, I think it's to get into the habit of biting down on it when you are throwing punches etc..

a FULL mouth piece not just the single one that covers the top portion. Trying to eat will make it more inflamed which will take longer to heal. Are you taking any IB prof? You might want to switch to fluid diet for a couple days.

I wear a full mouth piece actually. I went to the doctor today, luckily there is no fractures and the pain has gone away. She said I have TMJ, and my jaw should straighten out with some medication.

Better, just a little inflamation. My jaw looks crooked to me though, but the x-rays say that there is nothing wrong :)
