so basically i was going body sparring only. and then the other guy just hits me in my jaw/chin area didn't see it coming and i almost got knocked out. vision blurred/ disoriented vision/ felt unbalanced and tipsy for around 25 seconds. the pain got worse every minute couldn't even chew my dinner properly. and my jaws are KILLING ME. i cant tell my parents because they'll just cancel my boxing lessons. are mouthpieces only for protecting your teeth or your jaw as well?
Have any of you people that talk about glass jaws all day ever even been to a boxing gym? Ever sparred? I wish there were a way for at least SOME real life boxing experience to be a requirement to post here. A boxing gym is a very humbling place and a lot of you need to get to one.
Robert Garcia Boxing Acadamy Wild Card Gym Fortune Gym Azteca Gym The Summit Gym (Big Bear, private gym) Indios Gym (aka Henry Ramirez Gym) Two Feathers gym Capitol Punishment Gym Brandon ****s around in the gym, Chris Arreola ****s around in the gym, Mikey Garcia ****s around in the gym, Pacquiao ****s around in the gym. Maybe you should go to a real gym, mate.
I'm glad you've been to boxing gyms! I will also be glad when you grow out of the glass jaw jokes phase.
Well, your mouthpiece only protects your teeth as far as i know, but since you're biting it, you're keeping your mouth "stiff" or whatever you will call it.. Which degreases the chance of getting a dislocated jaw.. Did you bite around your mouth piece will you got hit? I have tried getting hit without biting around my mouthpiece, while my jaw was "lose", it hurts more than useual and i could feel the lower part of my jaw getting pushed away from the upper part, no damage happened, but it was a nasty feeling.. You should see a doctor.
sometimes when i get hit my mouth is swollen and similiar to what you described, but isnt anything serious. give it a couple of days with no contact and see if it heals up
