    I was referring to ''on paper'', but I wouldn't rule out a first round stoppage for Burns against Harrison.

    Harrison isn't George Foreman, and would be facing a better fighter than he's probably ever been in with before, at a weight class where his strengths won't have much of an affect.

    Not wanting to discredit his opposition, but the majority of it was relatively safe (I emphasise majority as opposed to entirety) - he never got fights with Barrera, Marquez, Morales etc.

    Well if Harrison actually wants to be deserving of a shot at Burns he should at least get in the ring with the European champion, not journeymen.

    I am merely pointing out that if Burns fights Harrison in December, its not going to be a walk in the park for Ricky, just cos Scotty couldnt finish his opponent & Ricky put in a second best career performance!

    Remember, without blowing my own trumpet, Im a bit of a scottish boxing expert, predicted years ago here to much derision that Burns would be a future world champ when Billy Nelson was a twinkle in scotty harrisons corner, so dont shoot the messenger with a drama queen bullet;)

    hes been out for a long time BA, & is using his past reputation to bypass these kind of fights as he doesnt have time on his side. In a perfect world he would work his way up, but this is boxing & the man is proven at world level, so cut him some slack.

    Would hate to see Harrison Burns made, now of ever.

    Burns has bigger fights he needs now, and Harrison has plenty other options.

    I know how you feel about Harrison but it's gone he doesn't have it any more.He had awful problems with range on Saturday against a journeyman and was so slow he looked like he was fighting underwater.Why not celebrate the fact that Scotland has a genuine world class fighter in Burns who also seems like a really good guy unlike Harrison who by pretty much any definition is a ****.

    aah come on Decy cut Scotty some slack:-(

    Scotty has never looked good chasing runners around the ring, & has never been mr lightning fists. Scotty does what it says on the tin, he stalks you, drags you into a fight, and wins. If you can run & score on the outside for 12 rounds? You can beat him.

    Listen to what I said earlier in the thread. Burns took the fight to Mitchell, & if he did that with Scotty? Its game on, cos hes entering Scottys playground! & in front of a full house in Scotland in December, Ricky wont be able to help himself but try to outman the hard man, & its game on...

    I aint running down Ricky Burns, Im just providing everyone with a warning not to write off Scotty harrison if this fight happens in December, cos trust me, Scotty has a mindset unlike most. Hes a born fighter.
