No issue with his skills or conditioning but I want to see his sharpness tested against someone like Crolla.

Crolla, McAllister or Matthews. Any of those 3 gives a clearer picture of what got in the tank.

I think the problem Harrison has with getting an opponent that will give us a real indicator of what he has left is nobody is willing to gamble on him.

I reckon no decent named fighter is willing to gamble with the financial risk of putting themselves through an intense training camp with his problems over the years.

To be fair you can't blame them.

...and who was it that Scott Harrison looked good against?

None other than the mighty Joe Eldifh!

    Right. (takes a deep breath)

So I have 99.9% of brit ESB it seems calling me a moron, a plonker etc & even a ****in TROLL for daring to suggest that Scotty harrison IF he fights Burns in December will be no walkover:nono

    **** sake:-(

facts. When Scotty got put away, he was champion. Didnt lose his belt in the ring. Was stripped of the title for being a ****in headcase. Scotty commited crimes, did his time & FINALLY it seems has grown up & realises hes on borrowed time, & is putting his heart(which is massive) and soul into recapturing his former glories.

So in his first fight he looks spectacular against a young oponent, who if you dig deep is of good boxing stock. Then in his second comeback fight, he wins every round & floors his opponent(who he had no idea of so had no time to analyze the man) & wins every round.

    HOWEVER!
Scotty gets cuffed on the back of the head & loses his balance for a split second. Cue drama queen city here, proclaiming Harrison "stumbled" was "hurt" has "spaghetti legs" is "shot to ****" will "fall over the minute he steps up" and even "has too many wrinkles" & people dare to call me bonkers?

& then some people dare to tell me that I moaned about Scotty during his near decade abscence from the ring, ****IN RIGHT I DID! Why? Cos he was my hero, & it broke my bloody heart & still does to see a man who could have been the best scottish fighter EVER throw it all away.

Against the oods though, Scotty has learned from his mistakes it seems, & deserves a second chance IMO. I only moaned about him cos I was hurting so much, & I make no apologies for it. To me, its like a member of the family who falls on hard times, gets in with the wrong crowd etc. You will go off your head with them, be angry with them etc, but deep down you know you will always stick by them.

Anyway, back to my main point, & thats that Scotty fans KNOW hes no normal man or fighter, & THATS why you should heed my advice that assuming he will be mere cannon fodder for Ricky Burns is wrong wrong WRONG.
Think of me what you will, but just remember, the one thing I am is honest, always have been always will be. & when I tell you all not to write off the teak tough tartan terror? You should listen.:deal

BB my good man, I tend to agree with the Steve Bunces of this world nowadays, **** the americans. If you can fill out arenas at home, why go over there to fight in a casino with one man & his dog watching.

Britains top fighters can pull thousands, so if the americans cant match it? Tough luck.

So when are we expecting to see him with a run out again to see what he can do?

They were saying after the fight he could fight another couple of times before December.

Typical Fwank bluster Scotch my good man if you ask me. He knows that Rickster vs Scotty is the biggest all scottish showdown since Buchanan-Watt, & if I were a promoter? I know that Burns vs Harrison would be tp of my xmas wishlist as a promoter!

Be good to see him in a fight or two before December though (if it is Burns or not). Some of the names flying about here are good choices.

I haven't seen his comeback fights, but he was NEVER going to be the best Scottish fighter ever. He was strong and relentless with decent power and a solid chin. But he was also one dimensional and struggled with speed and movement. He lost to Polo in most peoples eyes and he did lose to a way past it Medina. Sure he avenged that loss, but this was a Medina no way near his prime who was battle worn.

Harrison never really faced a top tier guy who was not shot. Most people felt Boom Boom Johnson was past his prime when Naz knocked him out in 1997. 3.5 years later at the age of 36 and having lost 5 of his previous 10 bouts he fights Harrison.

Steve Robinson was even more shot. It was 6 years since losing to Hamed and he hadn't won a bout in 2 years.

McCullogh was a good win, the Medina stoppage was still a good win and Harrison would have caused problems for a lot of the top guys, but he never fought them.
I think Burns would have given peak Harrison all types of trouble anyway, so I cannot see this older post alcoholic one causing too much hassle. But I'll check the fights if they go up on YT anyway.

Harrison vs Arthur would be a good fight to make. Their both about the same age and at the same stage of their careers, Glasgow vs Edinburgh.
