    I quote again.

He ties up the statistics with

So he basically spend 3 paragraphs and indirect statistics to go from 'runner' to accurate puncher to hit and not get hit.

You tell me, would that convince a reader that Floyd is not a "runner"?

    I don't need convincing since I don't believe he is a "runner."

You obviously did not read it or just took it at face value. You can't even connect the statistic to the actual argument. Hell I bet you don't even know the writers actual hypothesis he is trying to prove.

O wow I thought you wrote it. You actually made a big drama about it. You are like a 13 year old in a video game forum. It is so personal to you (not to mention a very child like addiction to emoticons).

Floyd's a boxer, not a runner. He boxes and moves, which guys have been doing throughout boxing history. Using skills and fighting intelligent doesn't mean you're a coward, it just means you have other ways to win besides brawling. Most guys who brawl do so because they're not good enough to actually outbox their opponents. How many boxers with the talent and skill-set of Floyd are brawlers?

Personally I don't consider Mayweather a runner. However, who cares? Ring generalship and footwork are apart of the game. If Mayweather is really running, then his opponent should be able to cut off the ring and make him fight. Why the hell should Floyd sit there and make his opponent's job easier? Floyd is undefeated. In every fight but one, he's outlanded his opponent by a pretty clear margin. So clearly whatever he's doing in that ring is working.

    +1

People who characterize Floyd as a "runner" don't know **** about boxing. Floyd is a practitioner of the Sweet Science.

Plus, Floyd has been known to brawl on occasion also. IIRC, he dispensed with boxing and stood his ground in the Hatton, Castillo, and Corely fights just off the top of my head.

he is a runner in the sense that his whole fighting style revolves around avoiding punishment. i dont fault him too much sinse it has been a succesful tactic in his career. the only thing i find fault in his way of dong things is that it keeps him out of the matches against fighters who he percieves as dishing out too much punishment to avoid.

Who displays better boxing prowess than Floyd? If you don't like his style, then say you don't like that style. Some people do not mind watching the technical aspects of boxing. There's a third type of boxing fan: haters.
