PBF is a defensive counter puncher who spends a great deal of time fighting in retreat, and in boxing most categorize that as a "safety-first' approach, so your point is null and void. JMM for example is also considered a defensive counter puncher but he hardly ever fights in reverse, see the difference!
Other than the last rounds against Tito, I don't see what you're talking about. MOst feel he got robbed in Mosley2, and that wasn't because he looked like he was afraid to get hit. In regard's to DLH/PBF, DLH ran out of gas as expected, but I do remember DLH doing most of the chasing and PBF as usual, fighting in retreat, so who was afraid to get hit?
Oscar has always stopped throwing his jab for whatever reason throughout his career. He just stops doing it. I don't think its because he gets tired or gets counterpunched but he just starts trying to land hard blows.
You are an abject moron who has no business discussing boxing. Are you saying that Leonard ran from Duran and Hagler? No its called boxing moron. there is no such thing as running. Floyd fights off the back foot, and waits for counter punching opportunities, while at the lower weights he was much more of a boxer puncher and can become that when the need arises. Show me where he fought in "reverse" against Corrales, Corley, Chavez and Judah?
Is there not such thing as running in the ring ? Why did the public boo PBF a few times when boxing agains DLH ?
Leonard didn't potshot while retreating he encircled while outworking. The fireworks are always there in a Leonard fight. In the Hagler fight, a fight as close to a retreat in Leonard's career that you can think of, Leonard was explosive with his combos. It wasn't all defence and pot shots. Mexicans don't nuthug DLH. Mexicans were pissed at the last three rounds of the Trinidad fight. But again, anybody fighting Trinidad at 147 has to be forgiven not engaging in blows with the hardest puncher the division has seen since Hearns.
I do understand the point you make, but im alll for giving guys credit for being a winner and winning the fight, as long as the decision is right!
