Im not talking about what B-HOP weighs.Im talking about NON LHW's,guys who have never had or never will fight a true LHW fighting for "the LHW Championship".....let's see Hopkins give a chance to someone who is a established LHW.

This is the flaw with the Ring and Lineal titles. However, you have to wonder how often this actually happens compared to ABC stripping fighters under rules that allow them to dictate without answering for their inconsistancies in ruling their belts.

The Ring is not perfect, but you can't trust the word of promoters or a guy like Steve Kim (with Maxboxing and The Ring basically being competitors) to give an objective opinion.

before there was the abc belts figthers fought anyone they wanted for there title. meaing guys could get dodged and aoided pretty easily. also it made mismatches.

so the ring magazine makes an article every month on who is the top 10 fighters in each division so that mafioso's and other gambling rings not put unfair bets on underdogs and give every good fighter a bit of power in the division. instead of getting bumbled around by there promoters.

i dont like how a boxer/promoter/celebrity has the keys to it but i dont think it matters as most of the best fighters in the divisions now are part of GBP.

on the casamyor affair. i have been following casa longer than ali seriously he has been in my fav fighter list for a long long time. and i know almost his whole personal life.... ehem

anywhoo's what was happning was that casamayor had beat corrales who was the lineal champ, he was the man to beat shall we say. casamyor wanted a fight with frietas but the wbc said he had to fight david diaz which at the time was rediculas. so he proceeds to get a fight with acelino (a rematch) and he almost did till the wbc pulled him out of it and said you have to fight diaz. they said this a month before the frietas fight was goign to be planned. then boom wbc stripped him acelino had no reason to fight him and david diaz fought for the stripped belt. in which just worked well as he looked a groomed opponant for morales's lightwieght attempt...sadly diaz won and so casa couldnt fight for his own title.

so for almost a year of legel troubles with the wbc for stripping him for a very weak reason. he got granted a fight with cruz.

im pretty sure the wbc helped him out in the cruz fight. as much of a fan of his he lost that fight by about 2 or 3 clear rounds and shouldnt of got the verdict. maybe a wbc sorry note.:hey

it's pretty clear that casa is going to fight pacquiao.

but the point is he was the main fighter of the division and was pulled out of it by the WBC this is the reason why we say he is the lineal champ becuase.....he is the lineal champ. he didnt retire and didnt move wieght class so why isnt he the lineal champ. why does juan diaz get superiority or in a better case nate campbell.
    :think

again i will bring up terry norris who fought mostly well established welterwieght champions.

but i get what you mean he hasnt fought any light heavies. even though calzaghe is the closest to it.

    Tarver KO2 Jones Jr.

Hopkins's UD Tarver LHW Championship, Real LHW:good

    Hopkins UD Wright

Hopkins vs Calzaghe is a respectable fight

    So whats the fuss?

Yes Dawson deserves a shot sometime soon and where's the Lineal Champ Erdei in all of this? It doesnt seem fair in my estimation to criticize Hopkins comp that much at this point.

There is a noticable trend in writers that BigReg chooses to be critical of.

No fuss Hopkins is NOT the man.

    LHW belts are split.

So long as we keep having non established LHW's fighting for the "crown" Boxing will just continue it's ways.

He isn't being critical. He is dead serious. He has been arguing with me and others over the issue of Lineal titles and ABC titles for a couple of weeks.

So he is not being sarcastic.

Wrong. When Casamayor got the Corrales fight, he signed an agreement with the WBC (Corrales did too) that the winner would do the mandatory with Diaz next. Well, after Casa won, he told the WBC he wouldn't fight Diaz because there "was no money in it", and said he was going to fight Freitas instead. So the WBC RIGHTFULLY stripped him. Well, when he couldn't get the Freitas fight, he came back begging to the WBC, who made the Santa Cruz fight possible. So Casa gets the gift against Santa Cruz, the WBC orders an immediate rematch, and Casa says "no thanks, I'll fight Katsidis instead", so they stripped him again. The big question is really WHEN are the sanctioning bodies gonna learn that Casamayor's word isn't worth 15 cents? LOL

He uses the terms, "respected and distinguished," condecendingly because both of those authors wrote articles that were critical of Floyd.

In this case you're wrong. I have been debating the topic with him for weeks and this article SUPPORTS his argument.
