These guys are too stupid to understand that this tourny was set up for the Americans to fail Ward has to fight both Dirrell and Taylor and then kessler. It was as simple Kessler had to fight one European fighter and AA has to fight one european fighter. If you can get the Americans to beat eachother up all kessler had to do was beat Ward and the Americans were pretty much done. which would have ensured that at least two of them had two loses in three fight. Ward ****ed all that up, now it appears that once he got by Kessler he now has the easiest road to going 3-0. Taylor is almost a gimme fight based on the fact that he is shot to ****, leaving only a fight with Dirrell.

For the life of me I can't believe so many bought into the Kessler hype. They act as if there's no way Ward could have been better than him. Kessler was a protected guy who can't deal with speed, movement, can't fight on the inside, isn't mentally tough and can't adjust. If it wasn't Ward who exposed him it wouild have been someone else, it was only a matter of time.

All fights should be held in neutral venues. I think it was an unfair advantage for Ward, Froch, and Abraham to basically host first round fights.

If Ward were fighting in Denmark, the ref would have deducted points for both holding and headbutting.

Ward definitely got a good deal in not having to travel to Europe. If you watched any of the preview show; his promoter negotiated that for him. The fighters that are travelling more are getting paid more for the travel according to Showtime. He won big enough Saturday night that it wouldn't mattered for his fight. It could of definitely helped Dirrell out as I thought he deserved a decision and would of got it if he was anywhere else, but England.

i dont think it would detract from the result..but Ward should definetly have had to travel to Denmark like dirrell did to nottingham and taylor to germany.
They were the belt holders and surely the challenger should travel to the champs backyard unless your fighitng a mega fight in a neutral venue?!
When watching the first 360 episode i noticed that ward was complaining that he would only fight in the U.S.A..is he scared of flying?

Headbutting maybe, but holding? Kessler held as much as Ward and then refused to fight out of it. THAT would be a ****ing terrible ref job. And Ward still would have won. Can't wait to see what people whine about when Ward travels in the semi-final round and still wins.

I'm changing my position in this thread. Not only does Ward not have to leave the U.S, apprently his next two bouts are in Oakland. I don't see how that's fair. Goosen wants the semi-final and final to be in Oakland as well if he gets that far. The other promoters surely won't put up with that.

So what your saying is that its ok that someone has an home advantage as long as its the European fighters???

Look man your guys are really making yourselves look like sore losers. This was a fight that one guy got dominated, if it was a close fight then some of the stuff that is being brought up many have some merit, very little but some. We Americans didnt do all the bitching and moaning about judges and refs in the Dirrell Froch fight were it was a close fight. Yes many if not most Americans felt that Dirrell won, but the fact is most people overall felt that Dirrell won. But after that fight you guys were saying stuff like its part of boxing ans such, but now Ward should drop out because he cheated, blah blah. Sour grapes is what it is.

While I don't agree with the OP, Froch has in fact fought outside of 'Europe' - I seem to recall him winning the WBC SMW title when he beat Jermain Taylor in the USA :yep
