Did you enjoy Tiger-Torres l? I knew you did. Wanna see Tiger-Torres ll? I thought you would...and I'm happy to oblige. Please excuse the less than stellar quality of the video...and the fact that there's no sound, but I'm sure that if you're a fan of the classics and a devotee of the old 15 rounders (might be a neurosis in some cases, depending on the fight), that you won't let these flaws to detract from your enjoyment of this fight... Well, the rioting mob of Puerto Ricans in attendance who tore the place up afterwards sure thought so. I was 14 at the time,..at home, sitting before the old Magnavox...and I swear, from what I saw, I thought Tiger won.
Less spectacular, not as flashy,...steady as always, and putting on that subtle pressure. I admit to having watched that fight as a Tiger fan, but I've always been honest with myself, and if Torres had been outscoring my man in any way, I'd have had that edgy feeling that the guy I was for was losing. I never had that feeling. I never felt that highly of Torres, tbh.
Yeah,...in many ways it was a personal thing...first he beat,...really beat...my man Willie Pastrano..then he got a very questionable decision over Eddie Cotton,...and he struck me as a major phony,....dlcking around with the "literati" crowd,...Norman Mailer and other such assholes. I was glad when Tiger beat him twice....and usually, I'm a huge fan of Puerto Rican fighters.

Petitions bearing the names of 3,972 people were sent to Senator Warren W. Magnuson, Cotton's home-state senator, asking him to use his influence as the chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee to change the verdict. However, that too was unsuccessful.
