De La Hoya announced at the post-fight press conference that he would return to the ring on May 3, 2008 against an opponent to be named later. De La Hoya indicated that he has decided who he wants to fight (the buzz on press row is that it is Cotto) but would not reveal the name until after Mayweather-Hatton. "I've given [Golden Boy CEO] Richard Schaefer his marching orders," said De La Hoya.

I don't know who else it would be BUT Cotto. Maybe he is hoping Hatton wins.
In any case, unless its against Kelly Pavlik or someone I really want to see, I am never buying another DLH fight again!

He won't fight Pacman. It could've happened but now Pacman is going to start to negociate with JMM or Diaz.

He won't fight Mayweather. He has said 1000 times there won't be a rematch.

I doubt he will fight Trinidad-Jones winner because of the weight difference.

He might fight Mosley or Cotto. I think he will end up fighting Ricky Hatton, no matter if he beats or loses against Mayweather.

Why would he fight Kelly Pavlik? He would get beat down.

I see him fighting one of the following: Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, Williams/Cintron
