Well we saw him fighting sturm and hopkins there.

how do you think he would do against say duddy or ornelas

i think even at his age and the way his gone into promoting and the fact his not a middleweight he may struggle but still wins

    He would probably beat Duddy.

But then I have an outside chance myself.

I think Oscar would beat both Duddy and Ornelas. Even at his current age, he's a different class of fighter.

    duddy 24-0 17kos 5rd ko oscar

duddy beats most boxers out there,i doubt he'll ever beat anyone of a decent level comfortably but he will always find a way to win.

ps. how can you hate on such a crowd pleasing fighter?honestly, some 'fans' out there don't know what they are talking about.

One of my first threads at ESB was: "John Duddy."

The first post read, "Any of you guys believe in John? I really want to but I'm not sure."

I don't "hate" him - why would you think I do? My point is that John hasn't come on like I had hoped. He's open, he's going to get KTFO.

You tell me - what does he do well enough that he can afford to box like he does? Has he got LaMotta's chin? Frazier's durability? Does he cut less often than Ali?

None of these things are true. He'll get beaten when he steps up. Sorry.

Oscar beats Duddy, Duddy isnt that big a MW anyway, so size wouldnt be a factor. PLus, John seems so intent on 'fighting' he blocks punches with his face, Oscar by KO

True. I think his management has also come to that conclusion. And I say that as a fan, who thinks he's a good fighter with great heart and seems to be a really nice, classy guy. But he's KO material at this point in his career. And it may very well be too late to change.

I think DLH could and would beat Duddy. Duddy ain't putting him away. DLH is just a better fighter.

haha, yea cos odlh has any sort of power to ko duddy, duddy has such a chin that the only people i could see koing him are pavlik and abraham, his chin is ridiculously solid, its in the wayne mccullough category if he steps up in the next few fights and doesnt get ko'd,yes,im a big duddy fan, but he has great stamina,a great jab and footwork,if he can actually stop being so 'fan pleasing' then he can be a force to be reckoned with, although at the minute it is all subjective as he has not been ko'd,barely ever wobbled and he also hasnt shown the ability to 'box' for a full fight.

Even at this late stage in DLH's career he would probably beat Duddy.

His best weight right now is 154. I think if he can make weight he would do very well at 147. At 160 he can be in the top 25. I think he can beat top 10 middleweights. He might win win a tittle, but I don't think he can beat the top 10 on a reagular basis. I think 160 is not a good fit for him. However I think 160 is a week division right now and he may be able to take advantage. If he did not strugke with Strum I would probbly be writing how he would be top 5.

Oscar has no business at MW. He proved that twice. He was competitive both times but ultimately didn't have the size and power to survive there.

He MIGHT eek out a victory over Duddy but he wouldn't be the favourite in that match-up.
