That's great for him for the next few years, or maybe even the rest of his life. Boxers typically fight to leave a legacy that outlives them, however. :deal In the gutter or no, was his career in worse shape two years ago with two (soon to be three) fewer losses on his record? His wallet may have been, but his career was pretty intact. You're confusing the two. What's he gotten out of his push by ESPN? A couple of 5-round victories over some worthless shitheels? A loss to a LMW joke he'd have never been matched with otherwise? A controversial loss to a protected fighter? A controversial victory over a former prospect with a long layoff? Now the chance to have his career executed for a pot of gold? Yeah, his career's doing great now...
One time Jack ****ed up and responded to "Jack Presscot" while still logged on as "Jack Presscot" Such a schmuck! :deal
It'll be a big payday compared to what Forbes, and the great majority of fighters in general for that matter, are used to.
Not really. Fighters fight to improve the lives of themselves and their families. It's their livelihood. For a guy like Forbes, getting a big money fight (even if it isn't BIG MONEY per se, it's far more than he's used to) is liking hitting the jackpot. For Quartey to get a reasonably big fight against Wright after getting jobbed against Forrest, and for Forbes to get this bout with DLH after getting robbed against D. Hopkins, it's like they still got the big fight that most fighters look for despite the judges robbing them.
