He's done more than anyone at 154, he is the king at 154. Hell, even Floyd only has a SD win against a shot DLH, and a close fight against a past prime Cotto, and of course Canelo. But Floyd is a WW again.

The point is that these ppv's are overused and too expensive. I do like them and I do buy. But they are too expensive.

Your moral high road argument about fighters risking their lives does not apply here. The ppv fees have nothing to do with the risks the fighters are taking. Do you think the boxing industry says, "fights are dangerous, so the public must now pay $70 to watch them?" The prices have to do with the greed of the promoters, etc., squeezing dry what few fans the sport has left.

If you think I hate Canelo you have no idea what you are talking about. I have always defended him and was one of the few here who predicted he would beat Angulo (easily) and Lara (with difficulty).

floyds wins at 54 trump anything canelo has done.

again...what's his amazing accomplishment at 154? angulo? he didn't even make the weight for that one.

PPVs have been 49.99 since I can remember. The last PPV I bought that was under $50 was Tapia vs Barrera, I think it was 29.99.

I'm all for fighters getting paid the most they can get paid, and if PPV will make that happen so be it. If there is a market willing to buy the PPV, then it makes good business sense to make an event PPV.

Why are you so defensive in regards to Canelo? Did I say you hated Canelo? Those are your words, not mine.

You're playing the hater role to the hilt.

Take a step back and you might have a better perspective on Canelo. First off, I'll be the first to admit there's nothing special about Canelo but if you remove the hate-tinted glasses you'll be able to respect what he has accomplished so far.

Whether you agree or not, Canelo has beaten both Trout and Lara, 2 boxers that he was supposed to be ducking and were supposed to school Canelo(neither of those happened).

Canelo will never be as good as FLoyd and he might not even accomplish what Cotto did but at only 23, he has, IMO, already surpassed what they did at the same age in terms of accomplishment and recognition.

I actually think Canelo has REGRESSED as a fighter.

Where was the head movement that he showed against Trout on Saturday?

Canelo may have done more, but Floyd is clearly the better fighter.

Floyd will always be Canelo's daddy. :deal

no, i'm not hating at all. i think i'm stating the obvious. i mentioned floyd because the other guy brought him up.

i have taken a step back. i know exactly what canelo is....he's not an average mexican fighter. he has very good defense and will beat plenty of ppl. i agree he deserves credit for fighting trout, floyd and lara. i didn't think he'd fight trout or lara. but...i thought he lost both fights.

as for his accomplishments at age 23...what are they exactly? 2 gift decision and a loss to floyd? or the fact that he's being force fed to the fans on ppv?

You know there's and easy answer for that. I'll give you a clue: it rhymes with Lara's running.

I was saying none of Canelo's fights have been ppv-worthy. Your words to me were: "I don't hate on fighters who are able to fight PPV."

Since you said those words to me, I understood you to be talking about me.

The rest of what you say, that you don't care how expensive fights are to watch, makes me think you work for Showtime.
