DLH Vrs Hatton? Who would win? I know boxing is not a game of this guy beats that guy therfore that guy can beat this guy etc. But you can get an indication sometimes. Floyd beats Oscar. What would Oscar do to Hatton? KTFO in 5!! Does anyone seriously think otherwise? Dela Hoya is is a big natural junior welter who fought compeditively with Bernard Hopkins. And Floyd handled his pressure with ease. How the **** is Hatton a super light weight going to beat floyd? Oh yeah, DLH is a far superior fighter to Hatton too.
Yeah but ODLH version of pressure will be nothing compared to that of Hattons, Im not saying hatton will win, but Ricky wont tire like Oscar did, or at least not as early!
You'd struggle to find a worse "Fighter A beat Fighter B so would beat Fighter C and D' example than Hatton/ Hopkins / Mayweather / ODL. They've all got completely different styles.
Personally, i think the pressure that DLH applied to Floyd, while it didnt get to him, would be much more difficult to negotiate. DLH has a strong jab, better all round skills.
I think the comparrison is sound because Rickys putting all his eggs in the 'pressure' basket and that was the same tactic DLH issued against PBF, only in a superior form than hatton will ever be able to issue it (due to Hoya naturally bigger weight and BETTER BOXING ABILITY)
I agree with your point about the jab, ricky rarely throws punches when coming in, but I think that his stalking floyd for 3 mins of every round will cause floyd trouble, trouble enough though? I dont know, Im a massive Ricky fan, but Im not blinded by the fact that Floyd (as much as I despise his persona) has all the tools to beat almost anyone, therefore I will leave it at that!:good p.s. If ricky gets a jab going while hes coming in, it could cause Floyd problems, but it has to be sustained throught the fight, and also be followed by by precise combos and then a step back
The problem was Oscar couldn't sustain the pressure, he had to time a couple of charges a round that petered out pretty quickly. He was too old to maintain the pressure and its not really his game anyway, it'll be interesting to see if Hatton can keep up effective pressure on Mayweather.
