What the hell are you talking about?

I'm not even talking about who offers you the most money. Usually the people who do that are shitty promoters who undercut the undercard to balance out the cost. That is yet another mark of a bad promoter. And this viewpoint isn't coming from a fighter, but a boxing fan. People like to see stacked cards with good matchups. Not 2-3 boring contests that were scrapped together for peanuts before the main event.

What I'm talking about is the sheer ability that goes into putting on good shows. DLH has had decent cards not because he knows how to put on a good show but because he's done what anyone with half a brain and a huge wallet could do.

Just on a speaking level. Watch the pressers for Arum shows, Goosen-Tutor shows, DKP shows. Those guys know how to promote fights. No bull**** there.

GBP is probably the best promotion company in terms of making good fights and how they treat their fighters. Plus, Oscar is the president and even non-boxing fans know who he is and his image is so good that people love him no matter what he does. It works well.

He promoted the highest grossing fight in the history of boxing. I would say that he stands by himself above the other promoters. He is above the redundant comments that the likes of Arum and King make at every press conference. He puts shows like 24/7 together, and sells the fight by aggressive promotion.

Great card tonight! Hard to be critical of GBP after these last 2 fights.

Dela Hoya disappointed in his PPV with PBF with his shitty undercards.

man if only there was some government incentive for plans like that then a lot of retired fighters like iran barkley, michael spinks etc... probably would'nt be falling on hard times.

Ask anyone who justed pay 50.00 $ to watch Hopkins run, hold , head butt , and Wright play peek a boo behind his gloves and slap, what they think of De La Hoya as a promoter?

a ****** could have done the same...for God sakes DLH was fighting one of the most hated and most talented boxers today....that spells money nomatter what. Btw..dlh has lost one of his top fighters because he felt gbp wasn't doing enough. Bob Arum puts DLH to shame...Cotto and Pac-man are where they at by a combination of talent and great promoting.:deal

Good grief it's about time there was some objectivity in this thread. Those damn Oscarsexuals were running amok!

And Carlos ya you seem to get it man. Bob Arum made these guys what they are. He made DLH too.

A good promoter understands careful, but exciting matchmaking for prospects. Arum has done a fantastic job with Miguel Cotto. No doubt about it.

And Don King did good by Felix Trinidad as well.

I noticed the matchups have only happened when they have signed both fighters though most of the time.
