    I'm a DLH hater???:huh :think :blood

I dont know if I'm that passionate against DLH to be labeled a hater.
I would think that would be reserved for Presscot.

.....in any regards, when it comes to hype and advertising, I've become immune to even recognize any advertising or hype calling anyone (not just DLH) a multi-time world champion.

The term "World Champion" lost alot of its significance starting from the mid to late 80's, when SRL won all these bogus World Championships late in his career fighting the likes of Donny Lalonde at 168 lbs and winning two World titles against a fighter who debilitated himself to come down in weight for the privelage of fighting Leonard.
.....on that night, Leonard supposedly became the lightheavyweight (175 lbs) and Supermiddleweight (168 lbs) champion, fighting at 168 lbs limit against a fighter who had never fought at that weight in his life!:-(

.....believe it or not, even way back then, I said to myself that boxing was headed toward a sad state of decay as far as recognizing true legit World Champions.
.....and I was right, the term World Champion is meaning less and less as the years pass, and I see no end to the fast free fall that the term World Champion represents!

From the era of Ray Leonard on to the present, fighters chose to follow a path of less resistance to a World title, thus more fighters are realizing winning multiple titles......they're winning them without being recognized as the true champion at those weights.

.....the last of the greats that could have gone the Leonard route, but chose to play it legit out of respect for past true legit "World Champions" ....was Alexis Arguello, who was given an opportunity to fight one of the lesser champions in the early 80's when he was attempting to become the first man in history to win 4 World titles in different weight classes, and the classy Arguello said absolutely not.
Arguello chose to fight the true legit recognized champion in Aaron Pryor, as he felt his accomplishment would have been watered down and it would have been a slap in the face to every fighter in history before him who had attempted and failed in their quest to win a title in a fourth weight class.

I get shivers running down my spine just recognizing the mentality and the true class of the great Alexis Arguello!

Those days are only a memory, and class fighters like Alexis Arguello who knew what it was like to be a true WORLD CHAMPION, are gone.

Ricky Hatton is a 4 time champion ... 2x IBF 140, WBA 140, WBA 147 ... he beat Tszyu, Maussa, Collazo, Urango ... all champions and all he beat.

I agree, I don't belief the WBU, IBO or the WBF have mandatories like the legit belts or the up and coming champs would be broke. You have to pay sanctioning fees you know.

Just playing the devil's advocate, but if he had gone and fought for that other title then he would not have taken that beaten with a drugged up Pryor. I would have taken the other title and became a four title champion and then fought Pryor. I understand what you are saying, but it was foul what happened in that fight.

Maybe he's counting the WBC at 147 twice. He regained it in 2000 for the Coley fight.

I still only consider Dela Hoya an EIGHT time world champ (like that's a bad thing!)

    Former super featherweight (WBO)
    Former lightweight
    Former light welterweight
    Former 2-time welterweight
    Former 2-time light-middleweight
    Former middleweight (WBO)

Don't know if the super featherweight and middleweight claims are really proper "claims" though, which brings him back to a healthy 6. Super featherweight; because the title meant zero back in the day. Middleweight; because its very arguable he actually won that fight.
