So DLH lost because he is a money grabbing *****?

Don't you realise that it's DLH who brings the major fights and by WINNING he would continue FIGHTING and bringing bigger fights?

someone watching the fight with me also said this... but in reality, it would make much more buisness sense if Hoya went in there and beat the **** out of Pac, went on to fight chavez jr, went on and retired in a fight (that he knows he would probably lose) against cotto or margarito in a superfight...

Getting your ass completely beat by a guy campaigning 2 and 3 weight classes below you isnt what one does.

It does when your opponent is a world-wide superstar that will go on to fight guys that you promote.

first lemme just say I am not a Hoya nuthugger one bit. I absolutely wanted Pac to win. His performance was stellar, you cant take that away from him. As I sat and watched the fight tho, I just couldnt shake the feeling that Hoya was giving the fight away. I mean, wtf!? He made ZERO effort to try and win whatsoever. A testament to Pac's skills perhaps, but Hoya wasnt even throwing punches! Im in total disbelief to be honest. I wanted Pac to win, and I wanted him to win big, but this has just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Call me a crazy mother****er, but this could be all part of a giant setup that started awhile ago. Should Pac get by Hatton (or hell, even skip him) a fight with Money May will be LUDACRIOUSLY huge, and guess whos gonna be promoting it.

I can't help but agree with alot of this. De La Hoya at no point gave anything we could remotely consider a spirited effort. De La Hoya has seen ALOT of adversity in his career and lifetime in boxing, and yet he performed like a journeyman taking his 50th loss.

Lets not ruin a great night for Pac with ******ed threads like this.

Yeah and Darth Siduous also pretended to lose to Mace Windu so that Anakin can save him

I thought about it but come on seriously? I doubt Oscar would have wanted to be embarrassed by a guy who had only fought once at 135. His ego is too big. I don't like the guy too much , but I can't help feel somewhat bad, it was a complete destruction. This was worse than Pavlik-BHOP or Tito-BHOP, Margarito-Cotto, etc.

I would have stopped the fight in the 7th round.

OK. If and when you rewatch this fight pay close attention to the combination of footwork, head movement and obviously the handspeed of Pacman. He was so quick and unpredictable that DLH had NOTHING to throw at. The couple of times that DLH let his hands go Pacquiao looked like Bruce Lee deflecting punches all over the place. I give Freddie Roach TONS of credit for the way Pacquiao looked tonight. We've all seen his speed before, we've seen his power before. But I've NEVER seen him look so sharp with the footwork and head movement. BRILLIANT. Thank you Manny!

I think he just wasn't throwing cuz he was being beaten to the punch. It did look early on as he was going for the knock out only. Old fighters do this when their reflexes are gone. Oscar's was doing this **** against Mayweather too but Mayweather didn't believe enough in his power to mix it up. I have to rewatch fight but Oscar was made to look as bad as he did by the superior fighter. Oscar had 16 years at the top though, his time had come.

Sure Oscar throws the fight..So that Top Rank can promote PAC/Hatton...
You know if Oscar wins he fights Hatton next...we all know theres no money in that

You guys take a break maybe get some sleep and start over tomorrow

True, but what radianttwilight said makes a lot of sense.

Oscar isnt an idiot, and he knows his career as a boxer is comming to an end/now over, while his career as a buisness man is just beginning.

But at the same time, you have to have some sort of self pride, and if your gonna lose, at least lose in a war, or battle, go out on a good note, not get completely embaressed.
