Agreed, Manny footwork and bobbing and weaving left DLH nothing to hit, so DLH looked like he was doing nothing because he had no answers for Pac's speed and quickness. Just listen to Pac's corner, Roach told him to keep circling DLH, basically leaving DLH at a bad angle he cant fire off the left hook. Roach also told Manny as soon as he feels the ropes to his back, to move to the side and get out of it, keep the fight in the middle. Oscar couldn't figure Pac out and was getting beaten up , so that will make anyone gun shy and confused. By the mid rounds, Oscar was done, his body fatigue and had the corner not convince him to quit, Pac would have KOed him.
Although logically it makes more sense business wise for Oscar to have won, I couldn't help but to think and feel the same thing as I was watching the fight. I'm still utterly shocked and the outcome still hasn't really sunken in. De La Hoya just stopped throwing punches and looked awfully similar to how Diaz looked against Pac and I still don't know what to make of it.
Nacho tried to change dela hoya, worst than what Roach did. You just cant teach an old dog new tricks, especially against an elite.
Just watched the replay, ODLH looked frusterated, He thought Pac was going to just go balls in and brawl, but when Pac was out boxing him ODLH had no answer.
another one of these shitty threads.... :-verysad why can't you ppl just give credit where credit is due. stop the hate and admire the man. he's great for boxing. he's a great fighter and yet still very humble and respectful to all of the boxers he has defeated. what is to hate about pac?
My thoughts on the fight , From the minute Oscar came into the ring chewing gum I knew he was dehydrated ..I loved it though ..Oscar was kidding himself if he really thought he would have been good at 147 at his age . The weight loss at his age was too much but for Manny it was the best oppurtunity to look good ! He strafed the **** out of Oscar. I really thought Manny was on his way to a knock out before Oscar gave in ..Make way for Manny/ Hatton !!! Tonight it may have been
De La Hoya chased mayweather and steve forbes around the ring and viciously attacked them at times.... both whom are defensive wizards which pac is not... this fight was a farce and we are the fools who have bought into this bull.... we will have to wait to see how long it takes for mayweather to start getting back into the tabloids now and talk up a fight with pacman which de la hoya promotes.... de la hoya looked more gunshy then roy jones tonight and he was no where near gunshy against forbes in his last outing....
i was hella rootin for pac too, but ya Oscar didnt do **** in this fight. It looked like he wasnt even trying. I think its posible manny confused him, but seriously... he looked way better against Mayweather, who's way harder to hit then Pac.
pac beat dlh to the punch with his great hand and foot speed. pac simply frustrated and confused oscar with his continuous head and side to side movement. and pac still had the power to hurt oscar with both the right and left hands. why can you ppl just accept that? :-(
don't you know. De La Hoya wanted to make it super duper obvious that he was throwing the fight so he would make it for damn sure you knew it. Not like that Hopkins liver shot job were he didn't do a good enough job making it obvious. Now everybody knows cuz he lost every round and made manny punch him in the ear till blood oozed out and dried up and eyes close. Now it is completely obvious specially to boxing geniuses like yourself
With DLH set to make close to $50 million in this fight, I would say it would be a safe bet to say that DLH told his ego to go take a hike.
