DLH, in the days he fought at 135 against Pacquiao today if he went up to 135. I think it would be a great fight. Who do you think would win? DLH's fights usually didn't go over four rounds so he would be looking for an early knock out as would Pac.
Pacquiao gets laid out by the larger, more powerful DLH. Maybe at 130 Pac can win since DLH would be weight-drained and green there (only fighting there twice), but at 135, Pac catches a beating.
DLH was a HUGE LW....I don' think Pacquiao could handle him at 135. Remember, DLH has a solid solid beard too and the only fighter to ever stop him was a MW. DLH KO in 7th ot 8th round. DLH simply too big at this weight. I think he would beat 135 PBF as well though....
Do you really think it would get as far as 7th or 8th with as much power going into punches from both sides? I say DLH early fifth round, and this is being kind to Pac. But I can see Pac scoring a knock down in 2nd.
I don't think Pacquiao would charge DLH, giving him extra time. If he did, then Pacquiao would be stopped quick. But I can't see Pacquiao scoring a KD on DLH. Very underrated chin.
Maybe Pacquiao can score a flash KD. DLH was dropped a couple times by Campanella and Valenzuela @ 130 and 135. Then Manny would get stretched afterwards. It would be pretty ugly IMO for Pacquiao.
Man, DLH was a beast in his early days. He had speed , power , great chin and stamina . He had everything and did everything , boxed , brawled , you name it. DLH by TKO 7 Call me crazy, but I believe a prime DLH would beat a prime Floyd, he had an excellent jab too.
By the look of these answers I should have titled the thread who wins between DLH and Floyd at 135. That's come out as the more interesting topic. I don't know as this was Floyd's best weight. However this was also the weight in which DLH's punch landed hardest. I think Floyd might win if he counterpunched all night but I doubt it as Floyd was much more come-forward and risk taking at this weight. It could go either way but DLH used to even knock people down with his jab.
De La Hoya would have knocked Pacquiao out at lightweight, no question. A lightweight De La Hoya beats Campbell, Diaz, Casamayor, and Katsidis too.
Yes, easily. DLH could have been an ATG at this weight, and a fight between he and Mosely at this weight would have been spectacular.
Hoya in 3-4 rounds. **** off Pacmaniacs.:good If you can't level a shot Barrera at 130, you won't be putting a dent in a peak DLH at 135.
