Why the hell would Oscar take a dive against Hopkins? Hopkins was the prohibitive favorite, no one gave Hoya a legit chance. There would be no need for him to take a dive.
lol.. nice thread.. love the part about Oscar & Hopkins fight.. I really don't think Oscar would be throwing the fight though..
It makes me laugh at how bitter some people are towards Oscar. Those pictures look totally fake, everyone can see that, so why do some people choose to believe?
Possibly fake. Those photos are now a solid part of Oscar de la Hoya's Legacy. They are like the Roger Patterson Bigfoot footage, taken at Bluff Creek in 1968. Is it a guy in an Ape Suit? Or Sasquatch?
To people that enjoyed this little excercise in deduction, thank you . Ever the realist BigReg and rightfully so. Lets just look at some more facts shall we? 1 - Prior to fighting De La Hoya, Hopkins largest purse offer was a Jones Jr. rematch. Even before he became a household name, he would not agree to anything less then 50% split as he argues with Jones Jr. live here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSsbKSjmy_I&feature=related 2 - When he fought DLH, Hopkins had already achieved a notable level of recognition and was arguably a HOFer. 3 - The purse split was approx 75-25% for DLH - Hopkins. 4 - Immediately after the fight Hopkins joined Golden Boy Promotions as a partner. 5- De La Hoya has interesting recuperative powers. The shot was so painful that couldn't stop writhing and grimacing convulsively, much less make the count of 10. But 40 seconds later, he recovered enough to get up, walk around, and brush himself off. If we compare that to other notable recent Bodyshot KO's: - Castillo was still on his rump many minutes after Hatton's shot. -RJJ's bodyshot on Virgil Hill was hellacious; Hill stood up and almost made the count of 10. He slumped back down and also was on his rump for minutes after as well. -Cintron took almost two minutes before he could stand after Margarito's bodyshot in the rematch.
Didn't give the PACman enough credit, but nonetheless Not to shabby a prediction. Notice the TKO, not the straight Knock out. :good
HOLY ****IN ****! Good prediction but the conspiracy theroy is weak. DLH would not have taken that kind of beating in any life or any day of the week.
