I'm pretty sure the fight was contracted for 147 (positive almost), but I am arguing with someone who believes it was contracted for 145 and they showed me links to box rec and the wiki page for the fight. Please show me some better information that the fight was for 147, but DLH just chose to come in at 145 or let me know if I am wrong. Thanks!
As far as I remember that fight was contracted at 147, but it just seems so suspicious that De La Hoya was not only one, but two pounds under the limit, the world may never know, not to mention him not putting on weight the day after the weigh in...............
May never know? :huh What would be the reason to hide something insignificant like that? And you know, it's DLH. He dictates terms.
this dude wrote a grantland (sister website to espn) article about the upcoming Pac-Marquez fight wrote that (manny's catchweight fights in a footnote) and I got in contact with them on facebook and said they were wrong so they came back at me with links to box rec and etc. and it had me doubting myself even though I knew I was right. check out the article here: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7220177/pacquiao-marquez-iii-fight-preview and you can click on the link on the bottom of the article to tell the dude, he's wrong...if, like me, paid reporters making stupid mistakes pisses you off.
147. delahoya was actually planning to go down to WW to fight guess who? a floyd rematch but floyd did not like the offer from oscar so he turned it down.
dude i am not a troll like u. 145 was agreed upon. u dont know shite about boxing. i am willing to beat my membership it was 145, sherlock:deal and it was originally posted by PowerPuncher, ahole. i just reposted it. so stop with that bs, troll artist
It was 147. DLH came in at 145 on his own volition. There was a massive $1 million penalty for every pound he came over if he didn't make weight, that might have had alot to do with Oscar shedding the weight so early in training camp to make sure he'd easily make weight. He was also looking past Pac to a Hatton fight, and I remember reading he said he would try to get down to 140 or atleast a cathweight for that, which could also have had something to do with Oscar coming in so low.
just like the average joyboy, you like rumors and would believe any unverified story and pass it as facts. just like this thread that you started and later abandoned. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357086&page=6
