I guess I do agree with this post. Oscar always did things the smart way in that even when he lost he gained a huge momentum in his career. Remember the old days. "Oscar's fighting for his mother," damn, how much more marketable a tag line can you get for a fighter. "He won the gold for his mother." Tito should have faked some **** with his family and said he was fighting out of an orphanage that burnt down!
But will old-timers also talk about how Oscar made Tito look like his feet were covered in cement, both before and after he got tired and ran?
The second knock down was tito coming forward and walked right into a jab. 90% sure. The first knock down was how you described it I believe.
Tito's Heart Is Something To Respect. He Always Seems To Go With The Hard Challenge. And Not The Path Of Least Resistance. Just Wish He Still Had That Determination To Keep To A Specific Weight.
Let's all be honets - Tito did it for the money, so did De La Hoya.. Mayweather is at least a more qualified fighter while Tito simply were too lazy to make weight.
And most younger fans will always remember Oscar for stuffing up the welterweight division where if he kept out of the equation we could have seen an exciting number of eliminators with Floyd forced to participate---because there would be no easy pickings from ODLH. Tito---Fearless as usual--would have fought Valuev for a well needed 15 million---King's gotta conscience in his old age WTF ?? :smoke :smoke
Oscar is taking an easy fiight after jsut fighting the guy that everyone regards as p4p #1 and after this fight he is fighting him again.
The question now is, What makes DLH think he is still relevant enough to fight the P4P#1? I honestly don't know why he would include himself with boxers that are at the top or going there.
Oscar does not include himself there. The fans include him there. When you see over 2 million PPV buys in a fight that breaks every record in terms of making money. That's the public's was of telling you that they believe DLH belongs there. I happen to disagree with them which is why I haven't paid for an oscar fight since he fought Mosley the second time. As long as people kee paying all this money to watch Oscar they have no right to ***** about his grip on the boxing scene.
Both are equally respectable, in my opinion. Tito did it for the MONEY. Challenges? No, he did it for the money. De la Hoya is fighting Forbes to have a win in his record before losing against to Mayweather, and because he doesn't want to be inactive for so long.
The saying goes 'actions speak louder than words'. DLH's actions of being on the boxing scene as a part time fighter and enticing the top fighters to fight him with his big dollars is why he has a grip on boxing. Yes, the public can avoid watching him on PPV and really send a message, but do you think that would happen? I don't, hell he's the golden boy!!! DLH is trying to play it humble, by saying he's a contender blah blah, but the fact is he's a wolf in sheeps clothing. He is the reason why PBF will put off Cotto and many other quality opponents. Why? THE MONEY! Big reward, no risk. Bottom line.
The fans are the reason that Floyd will put off Cotto not DLH. what the fans have told Floyd is "we want to see you fight Oscar so bad that we will pay you 30 million dollars to do it. We'd like to see you fight Cotto but not that much so we will pay you $15 million". Boxing fans have the luxury that no other sports fan does. We have the power to fire fighters that we don't like and promote fighters that we do like. instead we keep paying fighters and then bitching about them taking our money
When you lie, I'll tell ya:good I'm also not sure if some damn "trainers" are enough to get me "excited" to pay for this again....I mean the 1st match was "ok," but name me 1signature "moment" "exchange" ANYTHING.........that fight sucked ****** balls..
