...Of course I can...:huh...See what I'm saying about the reality in and outside of your head. You're the one who implied Juan Diaz almost knocked out Marquez. Yet...you always claim you're not biased against Marquez. :-(

I rephrased. Diaz had Marquez doing a tap dance. He scrambled his senses. He had Marquez fighting for dear life in the corner at one point. Satisfied.

 Marquez was in control of his senses. Getting knocked back by a bigger, faster swarmer and you just can't wait to declare he was almost knocked out before I called you on it and you had to rephrase to save your credibility. What's next? Barrera was almost knocked out by Tapia? GTFBITGTMSBT, noob! :fire...Before I have to send you another threatening email.

 Maybe I do resent JMM a little bit, but he was pretty badly hurt in round 1. He wasn't simply knocked back, and I think if a non-hitter like Juan Diaz is hurting you, and the limited Katisdis is knocking you down, it spells bad news if you're wanting to fight Oscar De La Hoya at 135lbs.

GTMSBT just isn't the same. It was on a good run though. I'll probably pop in every now and then to see if I know the still.

    In green: Ya think?

In orange: Hey, I said I voted Oscar by knockout. Diaz stung JMM a little bit but he also wrecked Katsidis' face and made an albeit poor Popo retire on his stool. A puncher he is not, but he is not without power. Not being a Rosario does not automatically shove you into Malignaggi territory. His style is built not for full power on every shot but volume. I think he's more of a Tim Bradley level puncher, in a brute strength, punch for punch manner. Katsidis-Katsidis is as you said, unspectacular, but he's got a damn good left. He could plant many a good lightweight on their ass with that.

In blue: :-( It's just not the same without Cawky McCawkerson to Cawk the place up. We just had our first month tourney end in a tie and are in the process of breaking it. :scaredas:...Also, you weren't there for the celebration of passing 1000 pages...about 998 to 1003 were ****ing intense.

 Sucks that I missed the celebrations. 1000 pages is a hell of a feat, reserved for only the most awesome of threads. I didn't like these newbies coming in and holding their own unofficial tournaments...WTF is that? Boxed Ears is the gaffer.

Oscar De La Hoya has him totally outgunned here.

DLH is not faster and doesn't hit harder than Pacquaio

No Diaz and Katidis were not close to stopping him, both put it all on the line and paid the price, I don't remember Diaz hurting Marquez, he landed but he was an elite LW at the time, JMM was landing better punches as Diaz came in

X Factor: DLH is green at the weight, raw, gave up his height and was weight draining so may fade going into the later rounds

Why are you certain DLH doesn't hit as hard as Pacquiao at 135, PP? Help me see where you're coming from with that, please.

You don't remember Diaz hurting Marquez?

9.12. Left hook quite clearly wobbles and hurts Marquez.

Side note, Pacquiao knocks Marquez out at 135lbs just as Oscar does.

Not close to being 'almost knocked out' and he comes back with fire almost immediately. Oscar is rarely that aggressive

Marquez of Casamayor wins a close decision over Pacquaio of the Diaz fight just like he should have done the fight before

Hurt all the same. Something you conveniently missed.

The Katsdis knockdown didn't come as a result of being aggressive, it was a clean left hook. Oscar's left hook is twice as fast and more powerful than Katsidis' in my estimation.

I think Pacquiao only got more formidable as he moved up, whereas Marquez is just a "good" Lightweight at best. He's been troubled to some degree by everyone he's fought at 135lbs, including a shot Joel Casamayor and a post-Malingaggi Diaz.

yes because I'm relying on memory from 2years ago, fighters get hurt. And Oscar may KD JMM, he isn't ko'ing him, Oscar punched pretty wide and telegraphed back then, skill wise he isn't as good. Casa was past prime but he boxed aswell as Pacquaio despite being past prime

So Diaz troubled JMM in the rematch where JMM didn't even lose a round  Diaz fought scared in that fight with his track shoes after being sparked in the first fight and I think a better description would be a post Marquez Diaz, as JMM ruined him if anyone did

Katsidis put JMM down, but aside from that got completely dominated from start to finnish

Talk down JMM's comp all you want but its plenty better than the no mark David Diaz and both bigger and better than the SFWs Oscar feasted on

Pacquiao would have made easy work of that Casamayor. Light and day.

I gave Diaz 3 rounds in the rematch. :think

JMM would have probably made tough work of no mark David Diaz if his reign at Lightweight is anything to go by.

I really like Marquez as a fighter, but Oscar is way too much for him...DLH KO 6-8 rounds. Maybe even earlier than that.
