Clearly DLH was hoping to KO Forbes impressively and get some steam going into the Mayweather scrap but there was no magic tonight just a boring decision over a smaller overmatched former lightweight.

DLH niether looked impressive or showed anyone that The rematch with PBF will be any different. He looked relaxed of course but the guy he fought had 9 KO'S.

Nah, Golden Johnson just wanted some money. Forbes wanted to compete

I have to disagree. I thought Oscar did look impressive during the fight and I think going 12 rounds was the best possible thing for him. I thought it was a pretty good fight with Forbes just being outclassed. Steve Forbes may have only had 9 KO'd, but you have to look at the fact that he hasn't been KO'd or Knocked Down in any of fights and he has faced bigger guys than Oscar in the past.

I suppose DLH could KO Forbes early, but intentionally didn't try to capitalise on successful body attacks to go long distance for a better tune-up. And at the end DLH just get to tired physically and mentally to KO a slick guy.

Nonetheless, he showed nothing to assume he would do better in a rematch. And he shouldn't take on Cotto of course.

Sad, but DLH needed the tuneup.

I disagree I don't think Oscar was looking for a first round ko I think he wanted an Alfonso Gomez more than a Golden Johnson. He wanted some rounds then the ko in the mid rounds but things didnt quite work out that way.

Bottom line he was looking to KO and to look impressive and had a fighter before him that was brought in to provide just that, an easy knockout! a small light weight exchamp with no punch for DLH to feast on. Done to show how fierce DLH is and how he is on the fast track to taking PBF out. Well it did the exact opposite. It showed that DLH may no longer be able to destroy the elite fighters at 147

Post after Post now comment how Cotto would now beat DLH a complete shift of what was belived prior to last night when the belief was that Hoya could take Cotto. Thats what last nights fight did.
