You do realize Oscar was ahead on the scorecards after round 6? ANd Oscar was actually OUTBOXING hopkins. Actually if memory serves, oscar was ahead right up till the KO.

True, for his straight up stance, being kind of stiff, head perfectly centered and not moving his head much, it's amazing he didn't get hit all too often, considering the level of fighters he consistently fought.

 

True. He was throwing crazy flurries that looked good, but Hopkins was the one landing effectively ans shwoing the better defence.

De la Hoyas biggest flaws were mental not physical. Its what led him to lose his biggest fights. He had a tendecy to lose his concentration and abandon or change gameplans in fights. Its noticable in his fights with Mosley 1, Quartey, trinidad and Mayweather. Love waching him fight though. He was very good technically, none too shabby defensively, had a great left hook, hand speed, power, heart, chin, basically everything.

 

True but not with Tito or Mayweather. He just simply gassed a bit in both, but with Tito he did exactly what he wanted to do. Followed the gameplan to a T and decided to take the last 2 rounds off, which cost him the fight. Although we all know who really won regardless.
With Mosley for sure, Oscar fought a warrior fight but stupid fight also. Tried to impress the fans after the Tito fight criticism.

You have to evaluate every fight on it's own.

tito fight alot of people felt he won
NO rematch becasue tito did not want it and went up in weight. he would make more money fighting de la hoya again than he would in his next fight fights but chose not to rematch and made the 60-40 bull**** exucuse and weight as an issue.

Mosely 2. Mosely has on epo and juice. Clearly this helped him win the fight because in the later rounds he was fresh as in the first round and de la hoya gassed as any normal fighter not on epo would.

Mayweather. De la hoya was clearly past his prime and still gave a great showing and some people though he pulled of a draw.

Pacquiao. We all know the stroy there. His big ego got his ass in trouble and he paid the consequences.

His only true loses were Mosely and Hopkins. Never in his prime was he dominated, never!!!

Most experts had Oscar winning both the tito and Mosley 2 fight.
Good post though. He was never dominated or really even lost in his prime except to Mosley in their 1st fight. sturm and hopkins is irrelevant - didn't belong in that class and cleary wasn't his prime weight.
