More impactful? None of those punches landed

Although it seems counter intuitive, if you are hurt or trying to reduce engaging, you should actually move forward within power range to avoid being at the end of the big punches. Bivol did that with his gloves up and head slightly forward.

I've seen all his fights. What I'm trying to say is becuase his corner says he needs a knock out to win, doesn't make it true on the scorecards.

This intro was like watching a movie before the fight. Very well done by Riyadh Season.

In a round of boxing, if boxer X throws 100 punches and boxer Y throws 50, but they both land 20 punches, then
    1. Y may conceivably have better defence, or X is very inaccurate, let's assume it was defence.
    2. X wins the round due to activity, Y does not win it from defence, even if Y has Sweet Pea level dodging abilit.

In exactly the same scenario as above, if Y landed 21 punches, then
    1. Y wins the round
    2. Y won because of landing more punches, not because of defensive skills, although his defence was what allowed Y to win by reducing his opponents punches landed.

    That should be clear.

i disagree with your first scenario. the difference in 80 punches missed and 30 punches missed, means something. it means you are using up more gas, wearing out the tires more. you are going to need a pit stop much sooner. the administration of energy reserves is huge in boxing. your opponent is looking for that sudden lazyness in your punch, the reduced force when he pushes you off. the trainers are looking for that as well. it affects how their gameplan develops.

I talked a lot about this fight among friends and on discord etc. I said Bivol wouldnt fold he'd keep calm and win a decision. after 9 rounds I felt bivol was up and I felt like i was right. then round 10-12 happened and bivol didn't even try to win rounds anymore.

I gave beterbiev the fight 115-113 I almost put money on bivol but didnt. I'm surprised that bivol folded late.

AB is able to throw a lot more punches because he doesn't waste energy. He forces his opponent to waste and expend energy by running and wasting movement. He does this through fear. Good video showing how he does it.

i agree. thats the theory behind pressure fighting. it forces high physical and mental activity which causes fatigue. thats why good pressure fighters dont let you breath. they are fine with losing early rds knowing you wont be able to stay in stride with him later in the fight, where they will win it. when it works, he stops you. if he dont punish you enough to diminish you, you can ride out his pressure. biev was not able to do what he has always done, and he got a result that he has never gotten because of it.

Everytime people use AB to mention beterbiev I read Adrien Broner. It's annoying. Beterbiev is long, but it is clearer, thank you.

It worked, but not completely, worked just well enough. Bivol had started running out of gas by round 10. AB then began to pour it on. Bivol survived though and finished on his feet. If this was an old school 15 rounder Bivol would not have finished the fight.

i can agree with that. im not sure bivol had 3 rds left in em. i can even see a better prepared biev winning the rematch. it just didnt work this time. he came up just a little short.

SO nobody is going to mention that PRIME Bivol that was 100% had a close fight with old injured Beterbiev who was not even 70% ?

It was just another fight for Beterbiev, he celebrated like always. Nothing special.

Bivol is good, his team is toxic. I hope he did not listen to them.

The beterbiev that fought gvozdik gets washes by this Bivol, the AB that fought callum Smith looked amazing, Bivol is just a step above him
