I can see that and I’m not against it, but on the rewatch I was looking to find a Beterbiev win, just so I could neutralise the probable bias I had for Bivol watching it live.
I still couldn’t find a way, I thought that Bivols work was a lot cleaner and varied throughout the fight but I was shocked to see the compubox totals for punches landed, so the only round Beterbiev out landed in total punches Bivol was the 8th.
The only rounds that Beterbiev out jabbed Bivol was in the 3rd and 9th with the 8th being equal.
When it came to power punches Beterbiev only out landed Bivol in the 8th.
Now iam no advocate for the use of the flawed system that is compubox, especially when it is used as a factual measure in any argument for or against a judicial decision and iam not going to, but it isn’t so inaccurate that it would be able to possibly find those statistics in favour of a fighter who was running.
It was such a masterful performance of boxing from Bivol that anyone who could in anyway discredit it, will forever be on my mental block list.
As I have said somewhere else in this thread, the only other performance that was better than Bivols this year was, Sergiy Derevyanchenko against Mbilli that was something else, he fought with no lead hand from the 4th round, couldn’t clinch hold or jab.
His corner were practically begging him to throw the towel in, trying to convince him he had nothing to prove, he was not even momentarily swayed and in taking the punishment and going the distance with a monster puncher knowing he couldn’t win, he proved his team wrong, he proved everything and he proved that boxing is the sport of kings.
Eastern European fighters are carrying the sport at the moment, and slicing through the nonsense and hype of western fighters.
The ring walks for Beterbiev and Bivol were a thing of beauty, Beterbiev was wearing a T-shirt no entourage and practically ran to the ring, Bivol again understated in his appearance.
It’s just no nonsense boxing and they are bringing the integrity back to this corrupt sport.
Bivol won and so did the sport of boxing and both men regardless of who you believe won played a part in as great a no nonsense spectacle of boxing that I can remember.
Thanks to both the lads you are appreciated.
    Can’t wait for the rematch.

Don't forget to constantly amend and widen it to fit your narrative.

I only caught the bit about stroganoff, and it looked like someone gave her sparkling water by mistake.

Possibly, but IMO that is 95% because Bivol is a feck ton better than Callum Smith, and forced Artur into a very different kind of fight.

Bivol would shut out Smith easily, in terms of technical ability they are so far apart.

    Credit where credit's due!

If Beterbiev was 25%-30% declined from the Smith fight and his knee was a realu issue (which he said after it wasn't) how did he finish so strongly? Physically he did not look very different to the Smith fight to me

It's always funny to see biased fans gradually widen their own scorecards for their preferred fighter with each viewing. As they continue to become more and more disgruntled with each viewing.
