No undisputed fight in 2023 then, it will be the Canelo rematch after.

Good points made but our friend Chris has his favourites which colours his opinions and his view of the outcomes irrespective of what actually transpires. In a funny way the thing I love about Chris is his consistency to his objects of desire despite when he is objectively wrong. It can be endearing.

I think they all improved especially Barrios, Khan and Berto but ultimately they fought better guys. Virgil really tried with Khan’s IQ but Khan won’t really commit outside of preparing for a scheduled fight which was a big problem so it was always like starting from scratch. You have to live the life.

No need for corrupt. His jab has to be better than Bivol’s on the night that will be the key to victory alongside body attacks. He needs to channel his inner Andre Ward.

When has Buatsi shown anything remotely close to the quality, ring IQ and mental fortitude of Ward? If your hope for his victory is a fanciful notion he can suddenly become a completely different fighter to anything we've witnessed so far, you're tacitly accepting he has little to no chance of winning. And in that regard, you're right...

I am not at all. He has the best chance and tools but needs to put it together consistently. I rate Bivol highly but I have identified Buatsi as the guy who May potent be able to beat him. I am glad he is with Virgil now.

I disagree. I looked into this topic a while back and there really wasn´t anything there besides change in tactics. No one actually improved their technique.

You are spot on with Khan tho. I think he and Virgil would have meshed well if Khan had been training all the time. Just look at how well Khan boxed vs Paulie and Maidana. Virgil managed to bring that back, at least to some degree.

Bivol will school Buatsi more convincingly than he schooled Zurdo...

Buatsi is a good fighter, hits hard, has decent skills, and it will be a good fight, but Bivol has beaten Clenelo, Joe Smith Jr., Pascal, Zurdo Ramirez, Sullivan Barrera, Chilemba, Umar Salimov, Lenin Castillo, Craig Richards.

And even more impressive, he schooled pretty much all of them and the one or two he didn't he only lost 3-4 absolute max, if you're being generous to his opponents that is.

And let's not forget that Bivol hadn't fought in like 19 months going into the Richards fight who even you agree he pretty much schooled. Prior to that fight both Richards and E-Hearn openly admitted they were catching Bivol at the best time to beat him due to the 19 months of inactivity but after it we never heard a single peep out of either of them about it. However, one thing we have heard being pushed relentlessly from them and many others is this absurd narrative that Richards only lost the fight by a single round. Technically Clenelo only lost to Bivol by a single point too but we all know that also bears little resemblance to what actually happened in the ring.

Buatsi went life and death against Richards who hurt him pretty badly and he had very tough fights against Bolotniks and Calic. There were times in all three of those fights where I wasn't sure if Buatsi was going to win or not and he was being hit far too easily by right hands in all of them.

Of the aforementioned victims of Bivol, other than Richards of course who he did scrape by even though Richards made things harder for himself by fighting Buatsi's fight, Castillo is the only one I would be confident of Buatsi beating. Buatsi is easy to hit and if Joe Smith detonated that right hand on his whiskers (and he would) he'd fold him. Clenelo, Smith, Pascal, Zurdo, Chilemba, Barrera and Salamov would be very tough assignments for the Buatsi we've seen so far and even if he was able to beat some of them I suspect they would be life and death struggles for him, or at least against the versions Bivol fought they would. Bivol toyed with most of them.

    Hunter has taught Buatsi well

From the Buatsi vs Richards RBR

He then had the audacity to complain about Richards hitting him low

He did the same against Bolotniks too, at one point cracking him with an outrageously flagrant low blow

Buatsi and Yarde should've fought each other long ago albeit Team Yarde are to blame for that because they wanted Yarde to earn not one but two title shots off the back of fighting absolute trash. To this day Yarde's best win is Lyndon Arthur. His second and third best would literally be road sweeper domestic levels. They turned down a seven figure payday to fight Buatsi. Callum wanted Yarde too and I'm sure Richards would've been open to fighting Yarde as well.

Bivol is building a very good book of names. If he gets Beterbiev after this, it'll basically be a who's who list of the era, with all of the fights being won easily.

It will be an interesting fight and a real challenge for Bivol who I rate highly and in my opinion the best Light Heavyweight in the world. Buatsi as you say is really talented and he also has a warriors spirit and with him being developed by Virgil he definitely has a real chance but needs to put it together. It is a tougher test than Canelo for Bivol. Personally I would be okay for this fight to happen after the undisputed fight giving Buatsi more time with Virgil. You don’t want to just fight for the title you want to win it.

I don’t know who Chris is but we all have our biases that influence our perception, there’s no such thing as a purely objectively right or wrong anything.
