Idk man... Canelo made Bivol miss plenty.

Situations like that (fighting tall fighters that will throw straight punches in bunches) is always going to be hard to effectively dodge all of them.

Besides... Most of Bivols success came when Canelo started gassing and his defense began reflecting that.

If it wasn't for his 'overrated' head movement his face would have been made a mess tonight.

At 40, that would hardly matter much.

He would be at a bigger age disadvantage than Ali was versus Holmes.

Everybody knows he beat him when they DID meet.

And If Canelo exercises his rematch clause with Bivol, that pretty much ends any hope of a trilogy.

He's fought all but two of the best in his weight class during his time (Andrade and Charlo, both of whom I have serious doubts about their ability to make big fights against challenging opponents themselves) and could still get at least one of them, but you want to condemn him for not moving up a weight class? The only reason he considered doing it now was that he feels he has unfinished business with Canelo. **** off with Andre Ward and his non-serious offers when GGG had a fight signed with Lemuix and was waiting for the winner of Cotto/Canelo afterward.

Do tell me more about the glory of challenging Washed Fielding, Punchingbag Callum Smith, (and his amazing win over the one-armed ghost of George Groves), Fatass Nasal Joe, and CALEB ****ING PLANT, though, because it always makes me smile thinking of those worthless losers getting the absolute **** beaten out of them.

I would argue that whatever Canelo was doing was not high level. Plodding forwards, hands up throwing right hands over and over at Bivol's guard is not high level. It wasn't competitive either. There's a strong case for Bivol winning 11 or 12 rounds. He at most dropped 3 rounds.

Bivols taller than Canelo but he is not bigger in size (he may be marginally) . Bivol has always been a decent sized 168lber fighting huge guys at 175lbs. He said himself at 175lbs he at max rehydrates to 184lbs. Canelo himself said he walked around 180-182lbs and that'd be what he would be rehydrating to.

Canelo looked like shite before he even gassed

It appears the three judges scored all twelve rounds exactly the same.

I think we saw tonight the size is just too much Canelo. I have no idea who this WBA guy is, I've never seen him fight (and he hasn't for 2.5 years?) and have only heard of one of his opponents (Mehry), but on tonight's evidence I think Makabu would put Canelo to sleep.

If Canelo really wants to explore these higher weight classes he has to do it the right way, take a fight to get used to the weight, stay up at the weight and don't go back down, etc.

But I say just make a career at 168. He looked best there and there are interesting fights with rising MWs (Charlo, GGG, Andrade) and a few young contenders (Benavidez, Munguia, Morrell).

I didn't see it this way live and almost everyone thought Canelo won two or fewer rounds and yet we all disagree on which two so that is strong evidence for your point.

Given that all three judges had all four of the first four rounds scored for Canelo, I think you're right.

By round 5, it had become just too embarrassing.

So your “argument” is literally built on a patently false statement, but you say it loudly so it must be true…that’s what we’re doing now?
