It's got to go to either Bivol or Jake ''Money'' Paul for me. If Bivol could summon demons from hell with his right hand like Jake can he would literally be unbeatable and likewise if Jake could box like Bivol.

39 and age doesn't matter. His last fights showed that he was still the second best in the category behind Inoue.

Inoue & Bivol for me, hard to split them in 2022.

The judges gave it to Canelo!

Seriously, how is it not Bivol?

Not really...just his win over Canelo is better than anything Inoue did this year...and if you add Ramirez then its Bivol by a galaxy.

To be fair Inoue won two world titles while Bivol won none. Not that I disagree with Bivol>Inoue this year, but Inoue becoming the first undisputed BW since 1973 is a pretty huge accomplishment. Donaire pfp>Zurdo even now and Butler is an addition, so it's not like Bivol has a full Canelo worth of resume over Inoue this year.

    Top 5...

    1. Bivol

    2. Inoue
    3. Haney
    4. Kenshiro
    5. Shakur

    HM: Bam, Hector Garcia, Estrada

Could maybe switch 3 and 4, but I like the fact that Haney convincingly won on the road both times.

I also have no issue with Bivol getting fighter of the year, but if I may add my 2 cents for Kenshiro Teraji. He beat the 2 highest ranked fighters in his division. The rematch with Yabuki, was an immediate return & destructively avenged Teraji's only loss, suffered in their first fight. The win over Kyoguchi, was over an unbeaten, 2 weight world champion who was in his prime

I'm a huge Ken Shiro fan, and I repeatedly said that he would dominate and stop Kyoguchi in the mid rounds. But with the level of comp at 108 vs 175, and how big of an upset (though wrongfully) Canelo vs Bivol was, I have to give it to Bivol.
